Good point LG but if it was me I would still want legal representation. With that many elders it be more of a reason for me to want to bring in a lawyer.

Like the rest, I find this request to meet three elders in a motel to be quite odd. I believe I would be tempted to tell them absolutely not. If she does go, I think I would have her excorted by a Detective from the Police and maybe carry some concealed cameras and tape recorder.

    A motel????? Very strange!

If the wrongdoer is a married woman, it would be best to
meet with her and her believing husband.
He is her head, and his efforts to restore her and direct
    her can be very helpful.

The Pay Attention to All The Flock book also says that Barbara Anderson's husband can be there at the meeting (Unit 5a--page 98).

Any JW in the world has a right to have a judical hearing in the Kingdom hall. They are up to something big here. Its called entrapment. They have an agenda thats for sure. They know full well no sister would ever meet with a jc of three men in a hotel rm or confrence rm. I personally believe that these elders with the aid of the legal dept. will have some sort of secret cameras and a tap going. I believe as others here too that Barbara should have a wire. she could check in the hotel the day before and explain to the hotel administator who she is and what is going to happen and let them guide her as to what measure of house security can be utilized for her protection should anything go awry. My advice is,

    CAUTION CAUTION CAUTION CAUTION!!!!!

all the best Barbara, my thoughts are with you at this time..

The Ramada Inn likely has classrooms available for rent and they arranged to use one of them. It doesn't mean they are meeting with this sister in a motel room too keep this hush-hush or anything.

Do you know how expensive those meeting rooms are to rent? They aren't like $50, and more like $200 or $300. Even a regular sleeping room is going to be about $80-100. I have had to arrange meetings at hotels, a few times, and they aren't cheap. Who would pay? Not the local congregation.

    It mystifies me.

So is the price of this motel room 30 pieces of silver? Will they want her to bring a credit card as security for the room? Well what can you expect from people like this? To keep dragging this poor woman on and on is cruel. They're going to refuse her appeal, if it were me I would refuse and be done with it. I wouldn't want to dignify this charade any further. I can't help but wonder how men like this can look themselves in the mirror. They must have amazing powers of self-justification to keep from laying awake at night.

I think Watchtower has gotten the idea, as has England and possible other countries, that the disfellowshiping attemps against the 'fearsome foursome' is an act in furtherance of a criminal conspiracy. (hiding pedophiles from the law, hiding child abuse vuctims from the law).

Therefore, IF the elders want to continue this PERSECUTION of Ms. Anderson (I suppose Brother Anderson will be next) if it is held in the KH, and found to be a crime, the KH can be up for grabs someday in a criminal proceeding or civil lawsuit.

It might be as simple as Watchtower protecting the KH from possible future seizure, just playing it safe.

And my disfellowshiping hearing took place in an elders home. Completely away from the KH. Go figure.

Three supposedly religious men wanting to meet alone with a woman at a local hotel....

sounds like the Jessica Hahn story, except that was two "supposedly religious" men......

I have never, ever heard of a Judicial Committee meeting in a hotel. I wonder what's behind it.

Dutchie, you know what they say about apostate women!

only kidding, actually Barb has too much class, personally I wouldn't bother lending credibility to that moronic society by even bothering to show ,unless it was to tell them I was D-Aing myself because I could no longer stomach the hypocrisy of a UN-snuggling, military toting, molester-protecting organization. Let them record and playback "them apples."

She might as well play it up for all it's worth at this point. While they claim this whole process is not "adversarial", the whole way it has played itself out would indicate otherwise. It would not be difficult to say she would not feel safe in this sort of environment with 3 men she can no longer trust. Who knows what they could do and how unwise would it be for a woman to deliberately place herself in that situation? Perhaps she can demand to be escorted by some sort of security.

Of course nothing would happen to her to harm her in a physical way but at this point it is just desperation tactics to survive as long as you can in what is a game played by rules that are made up as they go along to suit only the WT. Eventually we all seem to get tired of the stupidity and bow out and accept the inevitable. Very frustrating.

    Good luck with whatever happens.

Get confirmation in writing from the WTBTS that this procedure has their sanction. If they do not sanction the procedure then that becomes grounds for refusal to attend . If they do sanction the procedure they are committed to explain why in this case such a procedure became necessary. If they claim they do not need to explain then a forthcoming case of lible against the local elders and the WTBTS is strengthened. If they sanction and give an explanation that is reasonable then an alternative may be suggested that meets their criteria ( such as Barbara's home). If this is refused then a lible case is again strengthened. Remember this is not the first action against Barbara and it represents more "evidence" of a concerted effort to discredit an innocent person trying to protect children.
