I still would not ridicule people who have a paranormal experience. I would not ridicule people who have a born again experience.
Could you elaborate on that. Why not?
How far do you take that? Would you not ridicule them if they were a teacher for example and wanted to teach it to their students?
What if they believed they were born a third time, a fourth? What if they claim to be born again EVERY DAY? What if they thought they were abducted by aliens? What if they thought they went back in time for a couple months and actually prevented World War III? What if they thought there was an invisible man following them around everywere that only they can see? What if they think they're the messiah? What if they think they're an alien? What if they say that a dead relative is going to kill them in a few months if they don't blow up a bridge? What if they say that the dead relative wanted nothing more than to say 'Hi' and flip a light switch one last time before moving on? What if they claim that an angel told them that the only way to prevent the planet being destroyed is to find all the guys named Lot and twist their wives head around backward and until one of them turns to salt? What if they unleash wild bears on a group of 40+ children simply for insulting them and then claim it was gods will? What if they think that all the OTHER people here who believe in ouija boards and talking to ghosts should be burnt as witches?
I'll bet you haven't experienced any of those things yourself either, but I'm sure you draw the line somewhere and would have them committed for psychological help. None of those claims are much more absurd than the other. I'm not sure about the statistics, but I'm pretty sure that the odds of someone being abducted by an alien and acctually being an alien can't be much different. They both assume that aliens exist and are on the planet. So what's the difference?
