    Exactly...

community responsibility = a fair chance to learn about Jehovah

No doubt the average JW just nodded his head in agreement, or nodded off to sleep. This speech and any like it are a shocking and bold move that certainly looks much like what they pulled in the years leading up to 1975, only without a designated date.

Didn't once upon a time the JWs believe that citizens of those countries that didn't get a proper witness, would be given a short time to turn to Jehovah after Armageddon? There is nothing scriptural about that speculation, but didn't they once think that could happen?

This guy's voice technique is the same that pre-school teachers use to emphasize points to their students.

So the GB thinks that they've fulfilled Matt 24:14? Pretty bold of them. I would like to see if similar statements are made in the coming months...and if so...

...time to get out before they pass the Kool-Aid!!

I do not know the proper words to describe just how deeply that bothered me.

Matthew 10:23 Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come. Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.. When will the end of the world come? Before the gospel is preached to all the cities of Israel or after the gospel is preached to all the nations of the earth? There are three basic views of when this passage in Mathew 24:14 will be fulfilled. They are past, present and future. Of course, preterist believe that it was fulfilled by a.d. 70. Historicists believe that this passage relates to the fulfillment of the Great Commission during our current church age. Futurists believe that it will be fulfilled during the seven-years of the tribulation.

Community responsibility is a cruel invention of Jehovah's Witnesses to explain why God will have to kill the poorest 1/3 of the population without a thorough witness.

The witnesses have flourished in the richest 1/3 of the world. They have stacks of unplaced literature in their garages and basements. They have computers with CD's containing almost all the magazines, books, pamphlets published since 1950. They have the watchtower on MP3 and tapes so they can listen to it and not even have to read their literature. This richest third of the world drive automobiles to conventions and stay in comfortable motels. Why should God give so much to the rich and then write off the poorest 1/3 of the world with "community responsibility". This is pure arrogance.

The Bible teaches the opposite of community responsibility. Concerning the final judgement (which is the only judgement that really counts) Revelation 21:12,13 says " And I saw the dead, the great and the small standing before the throne, and scrolls were opened. But another scroll was opened; it is the scroll of life. And the dead were judged out of those things written in the scrolls according to their deeds. And the sea gave up those dead in it, and death and Hades gave up those dead in them, and they were JUDGED INDIVIDUALLY according to their deeds."

    It doesn't say JUDGED COLLECTIVELY.

It should also be noted that those who are killed at armageddon "the great and the small" are seen standing before the throne to be judged INDIVIDUALLY. And only after they are given a chance to observe the requirements of the "scrolls" do we see that individuals would be thrown into the lake of fire or second death.

The only things thrown into the lake of fire in connection with armageddon are the symbolic Wild Beast and False Prophet. The individual people "were killed off with the long sword." The "long sword" is one of the tools of Death & Hades. "And authority was given them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with a LONG SWORD."

Jehovah's Witnesses HAVE completed their witness work. They have preached to the third of the earth that WILL suffer the direct results of the great tribulation. The richest part of the earth, especially Babylon the Great (USA) have been saturated with warnings of destruction. The fact that they no longer can get significant increases from their extensive efforts means the destruction is near. When JW's see the disgusting thing (nuclear bomb) explode in the USA they will realize it is time to flee from Babylon the Great (USA). JW's will be able to flee the USA to their brothers in Latin America where they will watch from a distance the desolation. At that time people all over the world will realize that these people survived because of their faith.

I just listened to the whole talk from which this was excerpted (tho seemingly from a different file because there are noise dropouts throughout the file that do not appear in this version), and the excerpt starts about 1 hr. into the talk, immediately after an experience by James Killum (with no seeming relationship between the two). Then after, the excerpted part, it gets even creepier. Mr. Rayford's voice takes on a quivering tenor (reminiscent of the stereotypical ghost scare sound) as he offers a prayer-like benediction to those gathered:

"So (with booming voice).....we have the wonderful privilege to help people to come to know who the true God is before this time arrives. May youuuu with all your heart, your soul, your mind, and your strength, give your devotion to the true God Jehovah. And he will richly reward you if you have taken the time to be intensely occupied with his Word. Maybe Jehovah bless all of you. May his undeserved kindness shower over you. Maybe you praise his name forever to time indefinite. Thank you very much (clapping follows)."

So Rayford's big "new light" about the end being so close on account of the fulfillment of Matthew 24:14 is something that he ended his talk with....ending it with a bang so to speak.

I couldn't listen to it all; the guy is full of crap.

Imagine, is he saying that there never was a JW there since 1914? Is he saying that if there was only 1 JW in a country for 1 day in the last 82 years that all 30 million people living there are doomed to die forever because they didn't "listen" or weren't in the right place to hear when that person spoke?

Do you all know what community responsibility means in WTS lingo?

    *** w95 10/15 p. 28 par. 23 What Future for the Sheep and the Goats? ***

Many are exposed to our message as we preach from house to house or informally. Others may learn of Jehovah’s Witnesses and what we represent in ways unknown to us. When judgment time arrives, to what extent will Jesus consider community responsibility and family merit? We cannot say, and it is pointless to speculate.

    *** w95 11/15 p. 16 par. 5 Stay in the "City of Refuge" and Live! ***

Some people have caused human death willfully or through carelessness. Others have taken part in collective killing, perhaps persuaded by religious leaders that this was God’s will. Still others have persecuted and killed servants of God. Even if we have not done such things, though, we share community responsibility for the loss of human life because we did not know God’s law and will. We are like the unintentional manslayer ‘who killed his fellowman without knowing it and who did not hate him formerly.’ (Deuteronomy 19:4) Such individuals ought to implore God for mercy and should run into the antitypical city of refuge. Otherwise they will have a fatal meeting with the Avenger of blood.

    *** w65 6/15 p. 366 par. 29 Jehovah God, the Great Potter ***

More than that, the Scriptures show that there is such a thing as community responsibility. Thus in ancient Israel the older men of a city had to take certain action to absolve their city from bloodguilt in the case of an unsolved murder, for the entire city was held responsible. (Deut. 21:1-9)

Who is that guy speaking, and how do these recordings get on the Net, anyway? You know, he speaks in a tone--quiet, sing-songy, lulling tone--like what hypnotherapists use to move their patients through guided imagery, even for falling asleep. Interesting.

I have found it very fascinating how the Governing Body is considered to be a mystical / prophetic body which has special contact with God whereby they are granted just as much information as Jesus Christ. All of this reverence to a group of fallible men who are uninspired. If there is anything that the history of this organization has shown; it is that following these kinds of speculation without question has only led to folly. Not once, not twice, but several times over.

Why should everyone be expected to believe in; and follow an organization that has "cried wolf" so many times? And furthermore, why would God kill people who simply exercised healthy skepticism by staying away from such an organization?

The more these guys talk; the less they sound like true, Christ-like shepards. They sound more and more like the megalomaniacs that they are.
