Point taken, I'm very happy to be outside their WT organization. Like being outside in the fresh air instead of being cooped up inside the opressive JW atmosphere. It feels good to take a deep breath and be me.

JW Joke that was circulating for about 2000000000 years
by KW13 inthis man walks into a pet shop (worldly man) and sees a parrot he likes.
so he takes it.. on monday he was sat there, reading the paper, having breakfast when the parrot talks.
"have you done your book study" and it keeps repeating it.

My favorite JW joke is...
What do you get when you cross a JW with a devil worshipper...
...Someone who goes from door to door telling people to go to hell.

I DIDN'T GO!! I DIDN'T GO!!!!
by Bumble Bee ini can't believe it, but i missed my first memorial!!!.
i wasn't sure what was going to happen, until it was past the time to get ready and leave.
i left it up to my husband, and he made no effort to get ready and go.

Well done!!! It gets easier with time too, until you realize that the whole WT thing was a waste of time and so what if you don't go. Very good step in the right direction. CONGRATULATIONS.

I'm in love with a Jehovah Witness, Is it really a losing battle?
by icon ini have been reading all of the feed back for saddler and the others.
i too have been in a relationship with a jw for a little over a year.
i love her very much but all the abuse i have taken over the pass year from her elders, uncles, grandfather...etc has really taken it's toll on me.

I hate to say it, but this is the thin end of the wedge. If your girlfriend is committed to the JWs you will always come in a distant second and you'll never be fully accepted by her JW friends or family. You'll always be "worldly" Don't even think of getting baptized just to please her. That's like jouining any kind of secret society or the mafia...you won't get out unscathed. I know it sounds extreme but you could be setting yourself up for years of misery. Sorry.

I was never a JW "spy" but I was a "lurker" for a long time. This site and others helped me to make the decision to leave the JWs. Sure there are all kinds of opinions here, Take them for what they are... So to all the lurkers I'd say " keep lurking, I hope you make it out too. There's more happiness on the outside."

Pick your "King of the North" *fluff*
by JH in.
i say iran will be called the king of the north very soon by the watchtower..... so, who's your pick?
.

I don't think the WT will come out and say the King of the North is Islam...they might hint, but they don't have the collective guts to stand up for much these days. They're too afraid of reprisals from fundamentalist groups.

PREACHING has STOPPED / ARMAGEDDON has BEGUN !!
by DannyHaszard inreceived via email from a supporter, has anyone heard of this watchtower cult development?
{...i just wanted to let you know about some recent and alarming news in the wts.
my sister, who is not baptized yet, has been going to the meetings on a regular basis with my mom, who is full time pioneer.

It's sick. That an organization teaches this kind of vailed hatred for anyone with alternate beliefs is beyond me. These pictures make 9-11 seem like nothing and yet this is what JWs are looking forward to...the destruction of all the ungodly.

Hotel Discounts, at conventions. Oh how we fooled ourselves!
by free2beme ini honestly thought, when i was a witness, that there was a special discount at hotels when i went to them at conventions.
not just a simple special that can be given to anyone, but rather an extra special discount that was negotiated with the watchtower society.
well that is not the case, i used to work in the hotel industry for a short while and we did conventions for everyone from religious organizations to clubs.

I never ever stayed at a hotel designated by the WT, for a couple of reasons, first I was sick and tired of always being told what to do, where to go, what to think etc., second, I wanted to get away from "The friends" and not be identified with them. I hated the ASSemblies and meetings in general. All that stuff about how wonderful the program was made me want to puke.

How many remember the 15 min break Between the Public Tlk and WT Study?
by Wasanelder Once inas kid i remember a break of 15 minutes between the public talk and the wt study.
all the new ones and "weak" ones ran out to smoke.
loved to see the attendant round them up to come back in when the droning began again.

I remember them too...seems like it was the perfect time for "weak" ones to leave...which they did. I had to stay inside the hall, which meant that the meeting was that much longer.
