In my conversation with Jack Barr he told me missionaries werre instructed not to speak about their "home" but rather their "country of origin"...their assignment was their home from now on.

"Go to your assignments, and die there"
by Nathan Natas infor the past week or so the above phrase has been bouncing around inside my head.. i think it is from a talk to a graduating class at gilead, but i cannot for the life of me nail down the source.. does this ring a bell for anyone?
do you recall when it was said, and by whom?
can you point to a source?.

Doublethink: New Light and Faithful Discreet Slave Doctrines
by M.J. injws say that "the light gets brighter" because the understanding of their leadership is not perfect (not completely correct) and is constantly subject to revision.
one might ask, if the teachings are bible based, how can they be subject to revision?
because the bible doesn't give explicit directives/commentary on every question of life we may encounter.

How could an organization that claims to be so "right" be PROVED so "wrong" so many times? If God is directing them why has he led them down so many wrong roads and dead ends? Did God really want people to suffer and DIE because "old light" was incorrect?

New Book? "What Does the Bible REALLY Teach?"
by Cameron insomeone from russia said that the society has a new bible study aid, "what does the bible really teach?
" and that it doesn't mention matthew 24:45-47. .
does anyone know anything about this book?

I haven't seen the new book YET but I will...Remember the Org doesn't want people to look into their past... would you if you were them...it's a little embarrasing, isn't it, just look at the pretty pictures and do as they tell you. It's the simple way to paradise...don't ask questions...only apostates do that!

Were You Ever Really Happy or Joyful While a Witness?
by minimus ini think most jws have never really experienced "real" joy or happiness in the jw environment.
i don't think programmed mind controlled people can relate to "normal" things that make the average person happy.
what do you think?

I thought I was...but after I left I realized wasn't. As I explained it to a witness relative.. when I was a JW I was like a person in a swimming pool, enjoying the water but all the time clinging to the side, afraid of what might happen if I let go. But now that I'm away from the WT and not listening to them, I feel like I'm in the pool, only now I can swim and dive and really enjoy myself, I feeI I have real freedom that comes from a one on one spiritual relationship. It's hard to explain but it's real.

XJW's And The Debt Factor
by hillary_step ina common feature many of us suffer from after exiting from the wts is that we are often left submerged in a morass of financial problems.
the 'live for today' attitude induced in us by the wts is certainly no help in building wealth, so few of us leave the wts without some damage happening to us financially.
in my own case it was a business partner who cleared out the business accounts when i was an overseas trip, no doubt justifying his fraud as i was now not attending meetings.

I found myself in the same situation too ( isn't it amazing how much we all have in common) the best information/plan I found was Dave Ramsey's "The total money makeover" it's tough, but it works.

Apportioning blame in the WTS organisation
by greendawn inthe wts is guilty of causing a great deal of suffering to millions of r & f dubs over a period of time at least from rutherford's days.
.
if you had to apportion liabilities and punishment for this tremendous amount of evil how would you do it among their hierarchy ranks from gb to cos to elders?
-
potleg
I'd put 99.9% on the governing body because they are the ones setting the policies and tone of the org. From there on down everyone else is a follower. If any CO or elder etc. is allowed to be abusive it's because they're premittted to be so by a corrupt and moraly bankrupt org...and don't forget the Borg controls the money.

"Go to your assignments and spend the rest of your life in this system of things there' is maybe what you heard.... Although, "go there and die" is probably nearer the truth. A lot, and I mean lots of missionaries dont last more than a few years in their assignments. I know this from a conversation I had years ago with Jack ( John) Barr of the GB.

Dinosaur's & fossils records
by moman ini have been in the "truth" for some yrs., & just can't seem to reconsile the huge fossile record with the society's timetable.
if each creative day waz 7k yrs., that means the dinosaurs only lived on this earth for a few thousand yrs.= (sixth creative day 7k yrs.
to noah's flood).

Again the society has messed up, but rather than admit it they keep spouting the same old rubbish. I dont know how anyone with reasoning mind can swallow their junk science. No wonder the Borg wants the faithful to read only the society's publications.

How do you feel, relieved or sad?
by jula71 inive been doing a bunch of reflecting and pondering> im just seeing if anyone else has been feeling this and/or if its common.
relieved that i have a new found freedom, free to pursue goals and dreams i never could as a dub.
free from the guilt, always feeling god is watching waiting from me to screw up so he can erase my name from the book of life.

I was glad to finally get out and I've never regretted it...sadness...no. I felt angry and betrayed. I did the best that I could for the borg and they turned out to be a bunch of wackos pedling empty dreams and a string of broken promises.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend, but what about those dubs you were talking to? Would you count them as friends too? All too often empathy and compassion for anyone and anything outside the Borg is sadly lacking. Actually it's disgusting. Anyone on the outside is just " worldly" as if they don't count or matter as much. But when you're fed a diet of death and destruction what can you expect. Cherrish your friends memory.
