  That story has been making the rounds for as long as I can remember! The city, and country changes now and then. Plus sometimes, in the story it just happened a few months ago. I also read it on a Moirman site not long back! I also heard it from a Baptist minister, that's also my cousin!

  Prayer During District Assemblies

  there's something that i've always wondered about yet could never truly understand.

  does anyone know why during district assemblies a prayer is done during the last day after coming back from lunch?.

  i can't quite remember if it's done other days but i believe this is done on the last day.

  There was also a time that after the lunch break, they had a gong and prayer, everyday! That ended in the 80's I think!

  Did You Feel Bad For the JW Dishwasher-Cook Who Quit His Job (May JW Broadcasting)To Avoid Attending Later Meetings?  He Pioneered on Welfare or Unemployment!

  did you watch the story about the jw who was working as a burger boy at some diner and his boss wanted him to work on sunday during the time of his meeting?

  this faithful jw decided he could not attend a later meeting (6 pm sunday meeting) and soon quit his job(or got fired to attend his sunday meeting) so he could attend the sunday meeting he was assigned to.

  i think he was on welfare because this story states he won't work on sunday morning because that's when his meeting is!

  Sadly there are lots of us that over the years quite good jobs for the Borg! I did at least twice. I never drew welfare of any kind, and went back to work quickly, less pay and benefits! If I had stayed at the first job, I would have been retired and not working so much about everything!

  if you have been a jw for 20+ years you may remember that the wt went into great detail on different illustrations that jesus used and the "type/anti-type" ridiculous explanations.

  remember the revelation book and how those obscure jw conventions of the past pictured big things in heaven and the opening of seals?

  anyway, the wt lessons for the next two weeks do two big things for me.

  Even before I started opening my eyes, some of this crap, was getting to bug me! Countless hours of worthless studying, and trying to explain it all to others! Down the drain! I can heasr the flushing sound now!

  i know there are many posts discussing the may money requesting televangalism...er... broadcast i mean!

  but i wanted to start one where anyone can put what they have heard any non-exjw, non-apostate witnesses say good or bad about the broadcast.

  i don't see how it can't rattle followers... but then again i might be surprised how they can twist things (2+2=5).

  My elder brother in law, went to the LDC meeting, some months back. One of the things he heard was about how all the work at Warwick, was going to be of the very best quality! No corners would be cut! And that if you could not perform to those high standards, don't come!

  What Topped that off was the statement, After all, don't Christ brothers deserve the Very Best, during their last days on earth?????

  Seems to my, Christ did not even have a place to call home, nor to lay his head!

  i have a customer who's son is a jehovah's witness.

  he was disfellowshipped over a year ago.

  this is the second time he's been disfellowshipped.

  There is a brother in the k-jail here that was dfed for drinking. Poor guy he has such a big heart, he is taking care of his X that treats him like dirt, and two grown kids, that can't seem to do anything for themselves! He also has a very high stress job. But lovingly they dfed him, to show how much they care : (

  CO letter about using time or money to help out in Napal!

  i was talking to my brother this morning.

  last night at his meeting, they read a letter from their co. he talked about the earthquake.

  he said that if some were moved to maybe take some vacation time, and go do volunteer work in napal.

  So Why Do They Need The Money?

  so, as well reported, the latest jw broadcasting show is all about giving money.

  as far as the wt society goes they have been pretty candid about there not being enough funds to meet the expenditure.

  there are plenty of views on if this is really the case or not but underlying this is why are they spending so much money?.

  My brother in laws KH, was closed by the co during his last visit. Old building, in very sad shape, and in a run down trashy area. They were told that they mist likely get a new KH, in a good safe location. Well Tuesday night, they found out, they will be getting a mild remodel. Fixing a mold problem, and refresh of the inside, nothing more. The parking lot is gravel and will stay that way!

  As little will be spent as possible!
