  Send money to KH in lieu of flowers.

  "in lieu of flowers send money to the kingdom hall"..... wow.... this young woman's jw servant husband was caught cheating on her again with another jw "sister", but when she told her husband she wanted to forgive him again and continue with her marriage, he told her he didn't want that.

  he wanted her to simply move on with her life.here is how she moved on: she put on her wedding dress, got into her car in the garage and started it.

  do you think finding her this way spoke louder than any suicide note?

  So my dad comes from vacation and ???!!!

  hello folks.....so in an earlier thread i started, you'd realize that my father and i are quite close, we talk about almost everything/anything.. he traveled outside the country (he's semi-retired), enjoying the fruitage of his hard labor during his younger years.

  so he recently returned home after he and mum went away to catchup with some old friends in another country.. upon his returning home, and subsequently to the meetings, he was told that a decision was made to strip him of his "field overseer" role, but will still continue to be an elder.. the reason...he goes away for too long too often...you can't be away from your congregation for three months out of the year!!!???

  has anyone else had this experience before?

  That is an assignment that is almost always given to the most fs active elder. In the cong I am stuck in, it has changed hands about three times in the past 5 years. If there is an elder that's pioneering, he most often will be given that spot. Even an elder that auxiliary pioneers often, will be more likely to get that spot! The Fs overseer, is supposed to make regular monthly visits to differnt fs groups!

  I too think most likely this is the reason he was removed from that spot, nothing more!

  i was contacted by the witnesses in1965, baptized in that same year at age 15. i was appointed an elder in 1975 and served as an elder for 20 years..

  it hasnt been long since i learn ttatt and when i totally woke up.

  Hey John, and a BIG WELCOME!

  Most brothers that have been even close, to the "in" power people, should have seen and heard enough to wake us up, years before we did! Sad to say it seems to only really reach most of us after, sometthing touches us personally! I so believed the story that all these, ms, elders, etc, were sprit anointed, even after seeing some bad apples get appointed! I remember one about 25 years ago. Young ms appointed as an elder one week, removed and df'ed two weeks later. (His family had a big cookout in his honor) His wifes younger sister have moved in with them 2 months after his getting married 5 years before. Well it turns out, when she moved in, she moved into to the same bedroom a few weeks later. Of course many are quick to point out that, these are allowed to be in, to test others! That's always the excuse used, to explain their appointment's away! (Jehovah allows it to test others. Well Job was tested by Satan, and his peoples, not gods!)

  Your worst convention experience.

  by a split second rescuing our handicapped son from being pushed down the stairs by a flood of sisters rushing out to see as the drama had started.. the main offender being a special pioneer..

  I was hurt in two differnt events, 4 years apart. I am very lucky to have been walking these past 20+ years. Well my luck is running out, and the pains are growing! At the great and wondrous IC, it was almost more than I could to walk into the building, let alone, walk for miles to find a seat. 2nd day I knew where the main handicapped seating area was, so that's where I went. I got a seat right away. Ten mintues before the program started, two thugs came and told me I couldn's set there, it was only for those with family in a wheelchair, and I would have to move, when I prostested, one of them reached for my tag, the other told me that these instructions came straight from the oh so loving branch! I took my tag off and wadded it up, before the one could read it, got to my feet and slowly, painfully hobbled away. I took 30+ minutes to find another place to set. In a hallway, on a lower level! Well it turned out ok, being I had no one looking over my shoulders reading my tablet, while I was reading our wonderful web sites! 

  I may have to go to more of these crap fest, but next time they will have to move me. It took 3 weeks to recover from it!

  there are so many posters who use abbreviations in their posts and so many of us have been out for years.

  the borg constantly changes everything from beliefs to organizational tactics, so those like me don't have a clue to what you are referring to.

  It's so funny, they have been trying to do away with there beibg one top pit bull elder in each cong since the mid 70''s. They keep changine the title, and stressing, that they are all equal, yet, there is still one pit bull elder in charge per cong!

  when i was a jw we had a 60 minute public talk - interval - 60 minute wt study.

  60 minutes on a tuesday and 2 hours on a thursday.

  apparently every single meeting was essential.. we also had to get to 2 circuit assemblies every year that consisted of friday evening, morning, afternoon and evening on a sat and morning and afternoon on a sunday.

  Cofty, the Sunday & Thursday meetings did not include the song a prayer, so you had to add at least another 15 miuntes or more!

  Congregation that have sent in money!

  in the past week, i have heard from a number of friends scattered all over the place.

  a number of them are very upset over the congregation being required, to send in all monies over $4,000.

  a number of these were kh's that were saving to buy land, and or build new kh's.
