MANY QUESTIONS,Few Satisfying Answers.
by Blueblades in"nature is mute,we question her in vain.we need a god who speaks to the human race."voltaire..
throughout human history, tragedies and disasters have raised questions in peoples minds.today, many wonder how a good and loving god can seemingly remain passive in the face of so much suffering and injustice.. confronted with the reality of famine, war, sickness and death, many reject outright the notion of a creator who cares about mankind.nothing can excuse god for allowing the suffering of a child, unless,of cause,he does not exist.by far the simplest explanation for the holocaust ie.auschwitz,is that there is no god to intervene in human affairs,ie.the genocides in rwanda in 1994.. many questions, few satisfying answers.why does god not intervene to prevent bad things from happening?is it possible to believe in a god who stands by helplessly while millions of innocent people die and whole populations in the world are massacred and who does nothing to prevent it?.

Coincidences,What Do You Think?
by Blueblades inrecently, two posters, happy out and tyydyy posted topics that mirrored my exact recent experiences.. happy out's car crash was my experience this past thursday morning.i was hit by two tractor trailers on the njtpk.the airbag did not deploy enabling me to steer clear of on -coming traffic as i was spun around.
they made lane changes and fish-tailed swiping me from one lane to the next,it had been raining and the roadway surface was slick.. i ended up facing sideways, drivers side facing on-coming traffic at 60 mph and higher, front end into the wall divider.i quickly reversed myself and moved to the far right lane shoulder, thankful that the car was able to move after the front end hit the wall.the state troopers said this happens a lot and the trailers don't even realize that they side-wiped someone.they were long gone,no injuries to anyone else,no other collisions invovled.i walk away with out a scratch, front end damage to the car will be repaired,i was shaken up to say the least and thought this was it for me.. this was exactly one week after my brother died at the same time of morning,9:20 am.coincidence??
?i mentioned this to happy out in his post.. then, tyydyy posts that he finds his brother after 22 years.this two was my experience as i told him in his post.one of my sisters found me this past week, after twenty-something years which lead to finding four of my six sisters, still looking for the other two.coincidences???.

Pie in the Sky.
by Blueblades in.
scripture and tradition habitually put the "joys of heaven".
into the scale against the sufferings of earth, and no solution of the problem of pain which does not do so can be called christian.. is this a "pie in the sky".either there is pie in the sky or there is not.if not ,then christianity is false, because the doctrine of heaven is woven into its whole fabric.. are we afraid that heaven is a bribe,do we really desire it or is it an illusion.some of c.s.lewis's thoughts in the problem of pain,a knotty subject indeed.. blueblades.

If You Could Hear What I See.
by Blueblades in.
born with a hearing loss that went undetected until she was eight, kathy buckley grew up in a silent world, her family and teachers assuming she was mentally retarded.she was sexually abused, run over by a jeep, and stricken with cancer all before the age of thirty.rather than be consumed by grief, kathy sought the light of laughter.. kathy buckley not only survived, she went on to become a top female comic, the award winning author of a one - woman show, and a beloved motivational speaker in demand throughout the country.. in "if you could hear what i see,"buckley weaves a remarkable story about the people and events that shaped her life and encouraged her to dream.she reveals the priceless gift she received after a stunning life - after - death experience-----the gift that gave her power.. most of all,"if you could hear what i see"is about a woman who made a choice:to overcome all the obstacles life threw her way,and to meet those challenges with dignity, courage, and laughter.. i thought my life had been a challenge until i experienced kathy buckley sharing hers.i met her in person and after reading her book,"if you could hear what i see"lessons about life, luck, and the choices we make, her words will live in my heart.. if you agree that laughter is one of the most powerful factors in healing in our lives, then read this book.. blueblades who wishes to share a laugh with you.

What is Done is Done.
by Blueblades in.
how many of you wish that you could of come to the realization about the watchtower society much sooner than you did?.
at 60 years of age i wished it.. and how many of you are settled in your mind that on reflection, 'what's done is done' and the past is beyond our changing, but the present and future are things we can work with and focus on.. i'm stuck in the now, still reflecting.. blueblades

NATHAN KNORR'S UNCERTAINTY,and 1957.
by Blueblades inthere are some things i know -----i know that jehovah is god, that christ jesus is his son, that he gave his life as a ransom for us,that there is a resurrection.. other things i'm not so certain about.1914----i don't know.we have talked about 1914 for a long time.we may be right and i hope we are.. this was spoken not in private conversation, but before the governing body in session.this was not just a momentary thought on president knorr's part, one of his closer associates, george couch expressed virtually the same words.. then the chairman's committee, consisting of albert schroeder, karl klein, and grant suiter, produced an unusual document.it suggested that the expression "this generation" would begin to apply not in 1914 but in 1957,forty-three years later!.
1914 would not be dropped,it would stay as the "end of the gentile times".but "this generation"would begin applying in 1957.. this was discussed in the 1975 meeting of the governing body.. this information is found on page 248--in crises of conscience, ray franz's book.. the point is made that despite this uncertainty about the date 1914 by many on the gb.the date would still be boldy and forcefully published as a biblically established fact and we were to put our full trust in it and preach it to others.. we all know what happened in nov.1995.who do you trust now?.

How Do You Recognize and Understand God?
by Blueblades insince mere words do not suffice and personal experience is just that.and since the act of knowing, reaching and touching god defies all words, and one has never had that personal experience, what then?.
do life and death questions remain unanswered and answered if you believe in a belief system based on the written word of others and then your own leaf of faith?.
since there have been centuries of change in the social, political, language, geographical and religious fields and schools of thought, the current bible is incomplete, many books have been deleted from it in order to preserve the church's power.the most glaring purge was at the ecumenical council of 325ce.. there isn't much left to answer the question except death itself.we buried my brother yesterday and i wonder if he finally has his answer.. blueblades
