Just makes me wonder what her stance is on US involvement in Syria is. It's a very grey area concerning drawing a line regarding morality in intervening with violence. How much killing does a group of extremists have to perform before a stronger third party steps in? How many extremists does the third party have to kill before seasing fire?

Yes glenster after more research on the Dam and air strikes I see that this is more of an "stay out of our battles " message to the US than it is about bystanders. However it's still interesting how it was worded. Here is James Foleys statement from his Mom:
"We have never been prouder of our son Jim. He gave his life trying to expose the world to the suffering of the Syrian people.
We implore the kidnappers to spare the lives of the remaining hostages. Like Jim, they are innocents. They have no control over American government policy in Iraq, Syria or anywhere in the world.
We thank Jim for all the joy he gave us. He was an extraordinary son, brother, journalist and person. Please respect our privacy in the days ahead as we mourn and cherish Jim."

ISIS posted a video to YouTube depicting Foley reading a prepared state-ment urging Americans to stop their support for the U.S. government for itsbombing campaign against ISIS targets""
Nice Wikipedia regurgitation. Have you watched the video? Jim's eyes were closed for most of it. He addressed his immediate family and he let his words flow passionately on the spot. Who memorizes a "prepared and read statement like that Mr. Wikipedia?!
I'm not siding with anyone and the actions of all Muslim group extremists like this have been morally unacceptable. Im also not saying that religion plays no part in the conflicts with ISIS and the likes, it does. I was referring to the message sent to America specfically in that video. In fact, as a side note, unless Foleys body is recovered then it's still speculation that he's dead. The video shows no blood and cuts away before anything harmful happens.

Thank you for answering Abe. So how do you reconcile 2Thess where it says that those who do not know Jesus will be eternally destroyed? Explain.
"Answer my question:Did you never have an opportunity to learn about Jesus Christ?"-Abe
I have had plenty of opportunities to learn and have learned and doubt that Jesus actually ever existed due to lack of secular evidence and even if he did I have no reason to believe beyond a doubt that everything thats in the bible about him is accurate. He very well could have been a "Ghandi" type of person in the right time and place to start a cultural revolution for all I know. If i'm agnostic, live my life how i please, and wait until i die to find out and if I see Jesus after I die and then choose him as my king is that wrong? According to your statement ""I'm back, now who wants me to be their king and who does not"."

" At one time what ISIS did would have been thought of by many people as an acceptable way to wage war. "
The ISIS beheading wasn't an act to wage war, it was done out of a type of ransom to put a stop to the current war but more specifically the mass killings of innocent iraqi bystandards to US launched missles. The entire topic spoken by Foley and his captor was political and I don't remember hearing anything about God or religion. I would rather not re-watch it to verify so correct me if I'm wrong.
Consider, "Perhaps the single most important factor in ISIS' recent resurgence is the conflict between Iraqi Shias and Iraqi Sunnis. ISIS fighters themselves are Sunnis, and the tension between the two groups is a powerful recruiting tool for ISIS.
The difference between the two largest Muslim groups originated with a controversy over who got to take power after the Prophet Muhammed's death. But Iraq's sectarian problems aren't about relitigating 7th-century disputes; they're about modern political power and grievances."- http://www.vox.com/cards/things-about-isis-you-need-to-know/sunni-shia-conflict-ISIS

What was YOUR First Worldly Experience?
by Yondaime inwhile i was in florida during the spring visiting my oldest sister.
i had the time of my life with my brother in law.. you see my sister married a non-believer and my parents viewed him as the scum of the earth, so i was terrified to ever talk to him.

RJHarris how can you be sure of even what Jesus "said" in the bible?
Note this:
___________________________________________
"The earliest works — some of Paul’s Epistles — date to about the middle of the first century. Like the Gospels that followed, they were written by hand, and successors were copied by hand. Mistakes occasionally crept in.Moreover, with Christianity in its infancy and the earliest Christians still trying to clarify the full meaning of Jesus, his mission and his stories, the texts themselves sometimes changed from generation to generation, said Warren.
As archeologists and historians in later years uncovered more early manuscripts, each one hand-copied from some predecessor, they could see occasional additions or subtractions from a phrase, a verse or a story. The changes are called “variants.”
Most changes are inconsequential, the result of mere copying errors, or the replacement of a less common word for a more common word. But others are more important. They meant something.
For example, the famous tale in John’s Gospel in which Jesus challenges a mob about to stone a woman accused of adultery — “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her” — is a variant that copyists began inserting into John at least 300 years after that Gospel first appeared.
In the conclusion to Mark, the description of Jesus appearing to various disciples after his resurrection does not appear in the earliest manuscripts. And in Luke, the crucified Jesus’ plea that his executioners be forgiven “for they know not what they are doing” likewise does not appear in the earliest versions of his Gospel." -Nola.com

So even after you bash the bible for its vast lack of credibility you state Jesus words as fact? Maybe I misinterpreted what you were getting at. How can you be sure of anything that someone attributed to Jesus as having said in the bible ever? Also you said this "The Bible is NOT the Word of God, Christ is. It is blasphemous to stand up a book that men themselves authorized and gave a name to next to the Christ and call it the Word of God." But didn't Jesus quote the old testament. Was that blasphemy lol?
Also to ABE..According to 2Thessalonians, Will Jesus destroy even those who do not know him (for example, a person in a part of the world that is never exposed to The Word ever)? Answer Yes or No please

Abe quit redirecting the question to me. My question is this, Do you believe that Jesus will personally destroy even those who do not know him (for example, a person in a part of the world that is never exposed to The Word)? Answer Yes or No please :-)

"Is that what you are going to say to Jesus Christ?
I have never heard about you!"Abe
Abe, you believe that God will destroy even those who have never had the opportunity to get to know him? I wasn't referring to myself but to those who have never even heard the name Jesus, those who lived and died without opportunity to know God. 2Thess says they will be eternally destroyed.

So knowing God is a qualification required to receive his undeserved kindness. "If you haven't heard about me, I kill you." Nice
