most religions indoctrinate a standard sexual 'morality' into their followers.
sex before marriage is wrong, gay sex is wrong, same sex marriage is wrong, masturbation is wrong.. let's not turn this into another religion bashing thread (too easy), i was wondering how much of that pre-packaged thinking you still hold to?.

Well. my two bobs worth. At age 19 and a regular pioneer, I was told to get married
(elders prayerful advice) as it would solve my "self abuse" problem and my penchant for the opposite sex.
I did , as per stan livedeath. 14 years on, didn't solve either. Fortunately had no children.
I'm now a happy single male of the species.

just got home and received information from a source regarding london bethel: .
a bethel couple told my source that they are getting rid of about 20/25 bethelites every week and that if they are to go, they will get called in on a friday and given their leaving date.everyone is "on edge" and hoping that if they get the boot, they've got time to make alternative plans.. perhaps bethelites everywhere should apply this scripture, by looking for a job and accommodation now - and then just resign from their "vow of poverty" without giving advance warning.

Yes, here in oztralia it is a bewildering topic for most at all
levels. Many, due to cognitive dissonance just get the
'Rabbit in the spotlight look' when the topic is mentioned.
But if you speak with any you can trust (and only time will prove whom they may be))
they open right up and admit "clearly, something big is amiss".

Miss Worldly, I would like to add that as stated, the ONLY power the elders
have is the power you give them to control YOUR life.
As a single white male of the species, I have learnt that, FINALLY!!, and
am now happy and fulfilled in my life. Physically, Emotionally and Socially.
I have personally seen examples where bros and sis' have blossomed
when they stop succumbing to the guilt and power ascribing trip.

we had co visit recently & it appears that the co told the elders of the congregation that the scriptures indicated on the wt to be "read" on the watchtower study are only to be read by 1 brother in the entire study.... the elder conducting the watchtower announced that at the wt mtg... i was like what???

The cong where I show up, here in Australia, even has 8 year olds reading and
unbaptised publishers. One elder tried to change that but the others over ruled
him 'to encourage all including the kids'

just got a phone call from an older sister saying that a couple that got re-assigned from bethel 4 years ago to live at their kh apartment as special pioneers, just received a letter saying "as of january 2016, your special pioneer assignment will be discontinued".. they live in a south miami kh(snapper creek congregation).. this couple had only served in bethel for 15 years before they were sent out into the special pioneer work.
they are now in their mid 50's and the sister said that they have to find part time jobs to support themselves.. the older sister (does not have a pc or internet), says that the couple are just devastated!

Here in Oztralia, the spin doctors are saying that the cutoff point was that
special pioneers with less than 20 years service were 'retrenched'. And,
"there isn't really a need for special pioneers here in Oz. "So please
don't feel that you have been singled out or aren't appreciated".
The kh units they lived in will be given to 'retired' circuit overseers.
And, as I see some of them, (melbourne cbd ) I note they are confused and gutted.

a friend of mine visited australia and to his surprise there were no jw carts on streets.. wonder if it was just a coincidence or is it due to media attention that arc has created?.
Carts are alive and kicking and in fact, Congs are awaiting shipments to
double or triple the carts currently in use..people are catching on to the
easiest way to count time. Sit on a bench sipping coffee. I saw 3 guys doin this
just yesterday.
