they announced last week that the new atanta assembly hall has thus far raised 3.4 million dollars.

my local told that will become the society's come may 1. i wonder how that will go over with the ones who have been contributing to this fund..

!.4 Million pales into insignificance when I do some simple arithmetic.

Don't get me wrong, many bro's are becoming more disgruntled globally

and it's sad their plans are being shattered.

However, based on the average contribution of some nearby congs of AU$4.50

per pub per week including ww work, kh and ass hall construction, and not including local contributions

based on figures posted on notice boards. lets say, 7 mill pubs x $4.50 per week = AU$31,500,000 per week

or AU$1,638,000,000 per annum. Should be able to whack up a few flashy branches for that amount.

You can juggle figures to say anything you want I know, but, you can't answer the questions that arise.

just thinking out loud. Ha ha, typing out loud.

Relocation of UK Bethel

i heard a rumour that the uk hq is moving from mill hill in london to a location in essex near chelmsford.

explanation being that it's closer to the transport networks.

anyone know anymore?.

yes, you read correctly..... all appointed men have been told in a new letter that they have to pioneer to "set the lead" whenever there is a "special" campaign month.

they use some scripture saying that these ones have to show by example.... so for any of us who are appointed and have learned ttatt, it is going to be very hard to fade during this time!.

Bit of the old story, funnily enough it makes sense in that if you're

gonna tell folks to do stuff then the shepherds need to lead,,kinda makes sense

in any chosen way of life.

SERVICE MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT

We are pleased to inform you that the Governing Body is arranging for a world- wide campaign in August 2014 to give extensive distribution to a new tract entitled Where Can We Find Answers to Life’s Big Questions? A key objective of this global campaign is to widely advertise the jw.org Web site. The Governing Body anticipates that our com- bined efforts in this special campaign could well make the month of August the greatest witnessing month ever! In the coming months, Our Kingdom Ministry will provide more details. For example, all qualified publishers will be able to serve as auxiliary pioneers in August with either a 30-hour or 50-hour requirement. All publishers and families are encouraged to begin making plans now to have a full share in the ministry during the month of August!

Generate enthusiasm for the campaign: Hebrews 13:7 encourages us : “Remember those who are taking the lead among you, who have spoken the word of God to you, and as you contem- plate how their conduct turns out, imitate their faith.” Literal sheep follow the voice and actions of their shepherd. In one land, an inexperienced shepherd reportedly tried to make the sheep cross the road by herding them, shouting at them, even striking them. They did not respond. However, when he walked across the road, he was surprised to see that the sheep were following him. In like man- ner, publishers will be more inclined to auxiliary pioneer in August if they know that the elders, ministerial servants, and their families are in the forefront of the work. Whether your circumstances permit you to auxiliary pioneer or not, all will want to give zealous support to this special cam- paign. — 2 Cor. 9:7.

Field service group overseers should set an example that will encourage each publisher and pioneer in his group to have a zealous share. Group overseers should personally encourage Bible students who are well along in the Bible Teach book to consider approaching the coordinator of the body of elders to see if they qualify as unbaptized publishers. Young ones who go out in the minis- try with their parents but who are not congregation publishers may also want to begin participating

@ skin, Our wt conductor was blissfully ignorant of the letter. When the cobe

was challenged by another eldur the reply was "I didn't think it appropriate at a special

talk where members of the public are present"

So obviously the cong will get both letters at the midweek meeting.

Hi there, You might notice the referenced footnote in para 1 chap 6 on

Josephus' speculative guess regarding the numbers drowned.

"Why do we print a speculative guess from some dude that lived

1500 yrs after the event?" Why don't we then print from the same

referenced publication that moses married an ethiopian princess

and some of the other stuff he ( Josephus) dreamed up?

I thought the bible was the divinely inspired eye witness account,

Moses was there, was Josephus perhaps inspired also???

@ Listener. Where I attend there are 3 boxes. Local Congregation Expenses,

Worldwide Work, Kingdom Hall Construction Worldwide.

The Worldwide Work box includes literature as I have been told. That is where

I have been told to drop money for literature obtained. Another cong I attended

had a box for Car park Re-surfacing. Another cong had a box for Kingdom Hall Roof.

Its the Worldwide Kingdom Hall Construction box and any of the other local use examples

I listed above that will go. There should then only be 2 boxes. Local Congregation Expenses

and Worldwide Work. And it's the funds collected in any local boxes listed above

and sitting in bank accounts that the wtbts is chasing. Sad really.

I also wonder what old light there is to dread in the December 7 2009 Letter.

Was that the year the Worldwide Kingdom Hall Construction box made its debut ???

And yes Listener excellent points that don't require convoluted reasoning

at verses 20 and 21. If only,,,,,,
