Doctors and surgeons say no to blood transfusions
by Mr Negative inmy mum recently told me that even surgeons won't have blood transfusions, but the common people don't get told this.
i have also seen or heard others say that a bunch of doctors/health officials/surgeons were asked, at some point, if they would accept a blood transfusion and they all said no.
is this true?

I reckon it's all nonesense, I would go with wannabefree says. At least that way you're trying to tell your mum in a sublte way you are looking for evidence to back up statements if you're going to repeat them to anyone else.

Couple of questions
by All for show inwhy would the wts want to get rid of fence sitter?
as in, why are weak ones a burden to the cong, isn't that the whole point, to shepherd the flock?.
does anyone know if the gb gets a paycheck, flies first class, how they vacation?
-
KateWild
Don't forget the GB are also delluded to some extent, they feel they benefit by being saved at Armageddon, but also this is all a scam. They do make a lot of money with their property business and money lending. If you look closely into the finances you will see it's all about the money.
It's better for the flock to be less educated, because their thinking ability will be impaired if they are.
It is all about the money, but in different ways.

One Day assembly in Arizona- $17,000 !!
by AndDontCallMeShirley ini heard from a reliable source that a one-day assembly in arizona last weekend had a "cost" to the publishers of $17,000.. predictably, the elders were nice enough to obligate the attendees to a $6,000 donation to wt before the assembly "costs" (i.e.
"rent/extortion) were even met.
$11,000 rent plus $6000 in extra "donations".
-

I speculate this because if they announced a cost of $17,000, too many JWs would simply ask the school administrators what the real rent cost is and easily expose the scam WT pulls every assembly at its own facilities. WT has total control and zero transparency at its own ass halls..which is the way they like it.-ADCMS
Yes I speculate too, how much is cost, and how much is pure profit. SCAM.

How do Jehovah's Witnesses get around this one?
by runForever ini am the vine; you are the branches.
if you remain in me and i in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.if you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.".
according to jehovah's witnesses this only applies to the annointed brothers of christ.

I got round it by saying I was annointed, those verses always troubled me and gave me CD. The elders told me I wasn't, the whole bible is nonsense anyway. Plenty of Chritians throughout the world believe they are anointed too.
Now I get round it by believing, there is no such thing as holy spirit or anointed.

I found it interesting to see the fall and rise of partakers too, and compare them to number of publishers. Thanks jwfacts.com for your hard work. Kate xx

I am not attending anymore, but I don't think there is any growth in the KH. I think many are leaving. The GB are spinning the growth IMO. Kate xx

FuGK This Religion- Stop Ruining My Life!!!
by wallievase ini am sorry for the title but today just took the cake.
after not going to the meetings since august and trying to sort through this with my family, my wife today told me she wants to separate because of our differences over being a witness or not.. this is ridiculous.
so i said- how can you separate from me when the religion you whole heartedly believe says you can only separate for 3 reasons- abuse, willful non-support, or stopping her from her meeting attendance, etc.
-
KateWild
I am also so sorry your wife is doing this. It's terrible. This cult is responsible for splitting families. I have lost my family too because of thie cult and the mishandling of DV. I know what it feels like to get the raw end of the deal in a bad divorce. It's not easy, I won't pretend that it is. Keep us informed and we can provide support.
You never know her decision may not be final.

Question for those converted to JW as adults
by DaleRivers inwhy did you become a jw, what particular teachings attracted you to 'the truth' ?.
.
in my case (baptized at 20/21) it was the only religion i knew; my mom, her mom, and favorite sister were jw; and the teachings of no hellfire or immortal soul made sense to me.. .

I am a convert, I converted in my 20's. It wasn't a teaching that converted me it was the love bombing. I had an instant circle of friends that truly loved me for who I was. These dear friends became like family to me and were genuine to the core, some have died now. But my loved ones are the reason leaving is so painful and joining was so easy.
They didn't realise love bombing was a cult strategy, they are all genuine my close loved ones.
That's what got me in, and why I stayed for so long.
