  It ist OK to have fun.

  I am disappointed, that this kind of event is ONLY for "rich" delegates during there visit. Why it is not allowed for the regular kingdom hall JWs who have no money to be a delegate? Why must the normal kingdom hall JWs rent a wordly hall to have a nice get together? If every kingdom hall all over the world can have such a nice happening every year - nobody here would be disappointed.

  Android or iPad? Help please.

  it seems i am going to have to teach people to use a tablet as part of my job and i don't even have one!

  any advice would be most helpful please.. i keep reading blurb on amazon etc and now i'm really confused.

  what should i buy?

  It's not possible to use the apple tablet as phone (unless you use skype). No possibility to upgrade with sd-cards (for more space).

  With some android tablets (samsung or HP) you can phone. SD-Cards possible - easy filetransfer and data exchange

  Just my 2cents (using ipad and android devices)

  i had a recent conversation with an elder from my mother's congregation.

  he with another elder was at my mom's house.

  my mother has all the bound volumes for both the awake and watchtower plus most of the older books.

  from "dby": " just threw out everthing last week but the silver sword. song book went by-by too."

  The "silver sword" has changed only few weeks after presentation. They had some "little mistakes" in the first edition.

  This was discussed here on the board.

  The back cover picture from the song book has little changes.

  What words has the WT redefined?

  these days, virtually every public talk speaker thinks it's interesting and intellectual to include a dictionary definition of some word.

  often the word is in common use and needs no explanation, such as 'exercise', or 'knowledge', or whatever.. now contrast that to all of the words that the wt has it's own meaning for, and referencing a dictionary for the common understanding of it would be viewed unfavourably.. words like 'generation' or 'men' (as in jesus is mediator between god and 'men' - 1tim 2:5-6).. what words have the wt redefined that you know about?

  This week's WT study...made me so sick.....

  this week's study april 15th 2014 was called "do you see the one who is invisible?".

  it was perhaps one of the most depressing, controlling, fear-mongering, stress inducing, doctrinally incorrect, hate-inspiring, judgemental, cult-like, irrational, hyped-up, critical, crazy, stretched out, fanciful, illogical, burdensome, inflated, coersive, manipulative, and brain-snappingly weird stuff i have read for some time.... (but i'm sure it was just a rehash and repeat of previous stuff...for the new masses....).

  i had to keep up a sane appearance while in the hall, and even answer some garbage while this was being 'studied'... my cognitive disonance must be so strong now, because i found this one of the hardest ones to endure....now that i am home, i have poured a stiff drink and am trying to clear my head...... one paragraph was classic:.
