The biggest one:
(Proverbs 4:18) But the path of the righteous ones is like the bright light that is getting lighter and lighter until the day is firmly established.
there are a whole bunch of bible verses that the wt interprets in its own way to:.
suit their agenda.. to make bible verses less silly/weird/bizarre.
to make god appear righteous, kind and justified.. to make the bible appear more practical and applicable for modern times.. have given a few here.

(Proverbs 4:18) But the path of the righteous ones is like the bright light that is getting lighter and lighter until the day is firmly established.
in some european countries, "church tax" is levied against members of certain religions.
how each country handles this differs depending on each country's tax laws.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/church_tax.
in germany, a member of a religion that has "public law" status pays an additional 8 or 9 percent on their tax assessments.

Do you know if the org, when they submit their tax returns to the tax office, has to show an accounting of those "taxes"/donations? Would they have to reconcile that tax amount?
I don't know this. The churches do not have to make their tax returns public.
Some churches voluntarily publish what income and what expenses they had - which of course creates a basis of trust with the believer.
A cult (using the BITE - model to control there members) does not, of course, publish his finances. The JWs in Germany only have this document - how they will handle there finances:
https://www.jehovaszeugen.de/uploads/media/Vermoegensverwaltungsgesetz_01.pdf
Look at §7.2:
"The Branch Committee may provide for further fundraising measures in accordance with religious law. "

So the org had to pay millions of Euro every year to satans system (tax office). So satans system would work for the org and would receive money for this work.*** w89 5/15 p. 3 Babylon the Great—Her Execution ***
Whom or what does Babylon the Great symbolize? The Bible says that world rulers have committed fornication with her and that merchants have traded with her. (Revelation 18:3) Hence, she cannot represent politics or big business. But this leaves the third powerful element in the world as the only candidate for the title ‘mother of harlots.’ She is none other than Satan’s world empire of false religion!

However, whether the org collects that compulsory tax or not, the org, as a "public law" status religion, is now in the position to collect that tax and that means that they have the right to access income tax records of their members.
I'am a german citizen.
The church has no possibility, to access the income records of their members.
Look here:
"Erfährt die Kirche durch die Kirchensteuer die Höhe meines Einkommens?
Nein, denn die Finanzämter, die im Auftrag der Kirche die Kirchensteuer mittels Steuerbescheid festsetzen, überweisen die Kirchensteuer monatlich als Gesamtsumme an die steuerberechtigte Kirche. Die Kirchensteuerzahlerinnen und -zahler bleiben damit anonym."
Translation:
"Does church tax give the church the amount of my income?
No, because the tax offices, which determine the church tax by tax assessment on behalf of the church, transfer the church tax monthly as a total amount to the church entitled to tax. The church tax payers thus remain anonymous."

Legally, the org is in the position to collect tax on any capital gains that its members make.
Yes, but you can stop this with sending this form (called "Sperrvermerk §51a") to the tax office:

I have done this in June of 2014 - here a snippet of the answer from the tax office:
This year I left the JW "church" - not with a letter or a conversation with the elders.
In Germany you can leave any registered religion (also the JWs) by visiting the Registry office or District Court and paying 30 Euro fee.
I have done this and have now an official paper, that I left the JW religion.
So the goverment statistic about how many people leave there church ist now increased by 1 person (me) for the registered JW religion.
========================================
In the year 1999 the german branch printed a large and bulky book about the registration as religion in germany. The books name:
"Jehovas Zeugen - als Religionsgemeinschaft anerkannt"
Translation:
"Jehovah's Witnesses Recognized as a Religious Community"

... and this time it was mine.. mrs. eden decided to part ways and leave home, and so our 25 year long partnership is now dissolving.

It's so sad to read that your wife now wants to live without you.
I'm following your reports also, because I was many times in Portugal on vacations (between Portimao and Faro - also visiting every time Lissabon).
Best wishes for you from Germany.
what do you think would happen if i verbally refuse to report my time?
it's been several months since i turned in my time and i think the elder got tired of asking me lol.
frankly, i think it's stupid that jws are required to do this.
Last time I was asked about the report, I replied with the website:
https://www.jw.org/en/jehovahs-witnesses/faq/how-many-jw-members/
How do you know how many are actively witnessing?
Each month, Witnesses report their preaching activity to their local congregation. This report is made voluntarily.
I was never asked for the report.
and they said the organization would never do that.
i thought all elders were in the loop by now.
or did i miss interpret what's going on?.
nowwhat?
And they said the organization would never do that. I thought all elders were in the loop by now. Or did I miss interpret what's going on?
You mean the "Publisher ID" on the watchtower HUB servers in USA, Japan and the Netherlands. The Org is still working on this. So this elders do not know about the here leaked Skype-Videos and documents. That's why this elders don't now about.
Be a member on this board means, your are a lot faster then gods heavenly chariot

Take a cold german beer - brewed according to the German Purity Law
i remember an elder questioning a woman who had admitted to giving and receiving oral sex from her unbelieving mate.
he asked her the most intimate questions which clearly flustered her.
interestingly, she “confessed “ to the elders because her conscience bothered her.
*** g83 7/8 p. 27 Christ or E.T.? ***
Christ or E.T.?
E.T.—The Extra-Terrestrial burst on the scene in the United States this past summer, attracting theater audiences in record numbers. In only six weeks it grossed nearly $150 million. With spin-offs in E.T. dolls, toys and other merchandise—as well as the movie’s release in other parts of the world—it is estimated the public could spend a whopping $1 billion on E.T. Why the E.T. fever?
The movie depicts an ungainly 3-foot (90-cm)-high creature from space, stranded on earth, who befriends a ten-year-old boy named Elliott. E.T.’s friendliness and benign powers, such as healing the boy’s cut finger and bringing flowers to life, win the affection of Elliott and his family. Sadly, a wasting illness appears to take the creature’s life. But when he is inexplicably “resurrected” before Elliott’s eyes audiences cheer. His touching good-bye, when E.T.’s alien friends take him home, leaves hardly a dry eye in the theater.
Interestingly, many have noted parallels in the story to that of the life of Jesus Christ. Said Professor Albert E. Millar, Jr.: “I think the thing that struck me most was the idea of the capacity to heal, and then when E.T. died and was resurrected.” We have in E.T., then, an enchanting Messiahlike figure that gives momentary emotional release to our need for a true friend with powers greater than ours. Therein lies the movie’s great appeal.
Despite its seemingly Christian message, however, the movie subtly condones youthful misbehavior. In an early scene we find youths playing “Dungeons and Dragons” in a smoke-filled room with a lighted cigarette on the table. Later on, when E.T. gets drunk sampling beer, and Elliott in telepathic sympathy feels the effects, it is all portrayed as something cute. Further, some of the language used by these children is gross profanity. This, along with the supernatural aspects of the movie, has bothered many Christians.
Whether parents or their children see this movie is, of course, a matter of personal choice. But because of the movie’s great popularity, let us not forget that it becomes an effective vehicle for sugarcoating youthful conduct that is definitely wrong.
E.T. may be a skillfully constructed and highly entertaining movie. But it provides no substitute for our True Friend, Jesus Christ, who saves us from this dying, wicked world. After all, E.T. is make-believe. Christ is reality.
i hope i’m not imagining this but jace not been able to find the source.
even looked deeply into jwfacts site and still can’t find it.
basically the way i remember it was there was a article trying to explain away the “teeth and claws” from a tiger that alluded to it being a meat eater from the beginning.

Funny this came up... The Memorial speaker went into detail about how the lion and bear will learn to eat straw, animals will all be at peace in the New System. All those years growing up, hearing that baloney, and never analyzing it beyond, 'cool, I want a pet tiger'. Now, listening to a grown man talk about lions and sheep being friends, I was slightly amused that anything else he said could be taken seriously.
So the speaker was not aware of the actual WT-Study from this weekend.
§15 says:
15 Many who formerly displayed such animalistic qualities have changed for the better. This transformation was beautifully foretold in a Bible prophecy. (Read Isaiah 11:6, 7.) There we read about wild animals, such as wolves and lions, that live in peace with domestic animals, such as lambs and calves. Notice that this tranquil state of affairs will prevail “because the earth will certainly be filled with the knowledge of Jehovah.” (Isa. 11:9) Since animals cannot learn about Jehovah, the spiritual fulfillment of this prophecy applies to people.
