Is it Wrong to Doubt or Even Disagree With the GB? The Watchtower Reasoning....
by freemindfade inthis would be a good one for jw apologist who scream and panic with anyone who feels the moral direction of the wt publishing company has gone astray.
a comment at the bible highlights last night blew my mind, here is the article that was referenced.
btw this account always bothered me, remember when it was in a drama?

Billy the Ex-Bethelite wrote about the "old prophet" here:
(a) What lesson can we learn from the incident involving the younger prophet? That's easy. Never, ever trust an "old prophet". They lie. Stick to what you already have figured. Why should you suffer the consequences when a selfish old geezer starts giving you "advice from Jehovah" when they won't suffer the consequences. If anyone says they have new instructions from Jehovah, watch out! Obedience men will have you eaten by a lion! Again I say, "Never, ever trust an old prophet!"
...
In conclusion, never, ever trust an old prophet or an elder!
Okay, maybe I'm over-reacting. Perhaps you can trust an elder to recommend janitorial supplies or to wash your windshield. Perhaps.
Please dispose of your used airsick bag now. I'm taking off my aluminum foil hat now. And I'm off to take another hot shower to get the "cult" cleaned off.

JW Broadcasting is dying.
by John Aquila inonce a month about 15 to 20 elderly jw publishers would meet at the kingdom hall and one elder was assigned to set up the system so they could view jw broadcasting.
these publishers were long time pioneers, former elders, and long time publishers who know nothing about computers or the internet.
they are the last batch of those expecting the generation that saw 1914 or understood it--- to not die off.

She is finally starting to see the hypocrisy and lack of love.
Preaching this as way to treat the older sisters:
*** it-1 p. 940 Gifts of Mercy ***
In addition to caring for widows, the first-century congregation organized relief measures in behalf of other needy believers. Again, such organized giving, though directed by the congregation’s appointed men, was completely voluntary.—Ac 11:28-30; Ro 15:25-27; 1Co 16:1-3; 2Co 9:5, 7; see RELIEF -

For a young person to be ill for 4 or 5 weeks is enough to be kicked out of bethel.
(my own experience with a 24 years old former bethelite - after 4 years in bethel).
No reason for kicking was told to him - no wrong doing - so his illnes seems to be the only reason.
DATA-DOG
He was obviously not Bethel material. Good call, TOMO.
Good point. If you are not a MS or Elder within a couple of years in bethel - you are not "bethel material".

Curious JW Insurance salesman...
by cognitivedizzy infound this interestinga week ago...recently i had a brother who does life insurance for a living call me to see if i was interested in a offering, since i was keen on taking up a insurance policy for my 1 year old daughter for her education purpose 20 years down the line i told him that he can come over, fast forward todayhe comes over with his manager (not a jdub) and we have a long chat about the various long term insurance plans... i found it very strange that a guy who believes that the world end is imminent would be so keen on selling me a policy with a tenure of 20 to 25 years .. in my mind , i'm thinking " is he serious ??
"well after i agree to buy a policy for my child and specifically stating that its for her future education to pursue whatever higher education she likes, the manager encourages me saying " that's amazing , cos of education will increase in the future so on etc "... btw i live in a developing country when education is not free...so i'm done with all the paper works and the manager leaves, so its just me and the brother ( who is a ms by the way )i asked him, doe she really think i made a good choice paying for a expensive insurance plan for 20 years with good returns considering the end was so near..he was dumbstruck i aksed the question, he took a moment and hesitated and said this !!!
!he was like "i don't ever think the world will end anytime soon "do i sense another dissenter .... perhaps a fellow man.... i'm excited :)

Assuming they even know about it, that realization must piss off the GB to no end.The GB itself not believe the end is just around the corner. Otherwise they would not build warwick (they started many years ago). All the construction helpers could do field service instead of building a new headquarter.

Romance After Walking UP.
by John Aquila inin the jw world when men look for marriage mates, their criteria are young, gorgeous, regular pioneer, submissive, no children, ------and hopefully no in-laws..
when woman look for a marriage mate in the jw world, he has to be baptized, but better if regular pioneer, but better if a bethelite or pattersonite, but better if ministerial servant, but better if elder, but better if elder and successful businessman, but better if elder and a doctor, or a lawyer with a big house and a pool, but better with all the above and no children and no in-laws..
what do single men look for?.

WT Society Makes Light of Child Abuse Crimes by Portraying them as Cartoons
by flipper ini commented on this on another thread- but i believe this has enough importance to create a thread about this situation in and of itself.
at the current district convention as you know the wt society released a " sophie & caleb " video allegedly warning parents about the dangers of child abuse.
they don't really use the words " child abuse " in the video - but just say if " someone tries to touch you in a manner you aren't comfortable with " and portray it as a cartoon !

And the CARTOON portrayal is what has my blood boiling here. They portray the molester as some kind of a half ass blob that looks like the Tasmanian Devil from the Warner Brother cartoons.
I thought yesterday the same.
The crime statstic shows, that very much (I don't know the exact percentage) molesters are well known by the children. So I thought:
WHY don't they show this? WHY they show this "tasmanian devil" instead of a real person, known by the child, maybe called "uncle" by the child?
