  just read a post on jwsurvey about the new donation arrangement.

  congregations are to pledge a monthly amount to be sent to the society to fund the building of assembly halls and kingdom halls.

  congregations who already have a loan from the society will no longer have to pay back the loan but the amount pledged should not be less than the current monthly repayments to the society.

  @the searcher i can only speak for myself and my own congregation, but we help eachother out, even financially or with food, material and even shelter if that is necessary. We do that as brothers and sisters and most of the time in private.

  We dont use and dont need Kingdom Hall funds to do so ,but use just our own money.

  @CBG in my country there are no widows without pension. And we have a say about our money but also have the same goal and purpose all over the world. We are not a local organisation but a worldwide one. Therefor its only logic that the money will be used to serve our common goal and purpose.

  Strange thing is that apostates are worrying more about where the money goes than those witnesses. Let me remind you... its not your money...its theirs

  Our congregation has U$42,000 on the local bank account. But what is the benefit of having money sleeping on the shelf of local congregations? It would be much better if this money is going to be used where there is a need.

  so there are about 114,000 congregations a lot of them have a small or bigger surplus,.. make a pile of that money and you get a mountain.

  As a matter a fact we do need those Kingdom Halls and Assembly Halls. In Europe we start in 7 countries with big and new assemblyhalls for crowds of 2000-3500 people.

  A multimillion dollar project for a new assembly hall is already started in the Netherlands. 6 other european countries will follow. Furthermore we do need those 13,000 kingdom halls.

  Besides that, in many parts of the world the witnesses are still meeting in private houses or in sheds instead of kingdom halls.

  In the philippines alone they made 1000 Kingdom Halls in just one decade and they are still building more there.

  And that is just one country.

  Furthermore this arrangement will replace the contribution box for the worldwide kingdom hall fund. The contribution box will be taken away. I think its a very smart move that will enable us to do much more in the coming years.

  If The Organization Was A Country, Then.......?

  a different way to look at the organization.. suppose that the organization was a country of 8 million or so.

  given that jw's believe that god will one day slaughter everyone else and leave them to inherit the globe, this is a fair matter to think about.. would "watchtowerland" be a theocracy..... like iran?.

  would it be ruled by a group of old men........like the former soviet union?.

  i was in the yard doing some weeding when two gentlemen walked through the gate.

  so we have heard of an earthquake today, and possible tsunami...and immediately i am told.

  " well we must be close".

  it is as if the witnesses are so happy that another tragedy has occurred!

  well, i stumbled across this article here, that contains lots of so-called 'facts' and 'figures', i'm sure glad i read my wt first so i can recognise that this is nothing but lies, all lies.. .

  Congregation Contributions

  do you guys remember when the congregation's monthly contribution report was read out loud in the service meeting?

  obviously, they don't do that anymore... does anyone here know why exactly they stopped reading the report publicly?.

  seems fishy to me.

  he had all the opportunities and talent to persue a 'higher' education and have a great career.

  however he did meet someone and started a bible study... he changed his future... he changed his life and now, in his opinion, he has the best life ever.

  @redvip if you quit smoking it is not that smart to keep surrounding yourself on a daily basis with a couple of hundred smokers,.. same goes for drugs,.. or the way people think about sexual relationships and other parts of certain lifestyles.

  before i became a witness i had seen it all , all the pro's and con's, the books of Franz and others (i still have those), JWfacts, JWN and more stuff like that. Furthermore i did not leave my natural family ( whom are not JW's) , i do see them very often. I just broke with most of my old friends and acquaintances simply because they are still living their lives like i did in the past.
