JH - Years ago (5 now thinking back) I was in a bad situation at work, so I prayed and prayed for relief from this situation (I wanted something to happen to the person causing me problems) and after a while I just 'let it go' and things worked out for the better (I was removed from the area into a better one for my career). I find I don't always get what I THINK I would like or deserve (riches etc...), but is that REALLY what He wants? I've found that doors do open, you just have to look down the hallway and make sure you're at the right one. "Thy will be done", is the hardest thing to do and try to live up to. So keep knocking, but watch for other (unexpected) doors to open. I hope this helps in some way.

Keep on knocking and the door shall open
by JH injesus said these words thousands of years ago meaning that if you insist, finally things will work out for you.
he also meant to pray to god continuously in order to receive.
praying or not, did you have the impression that by knocking continuously that things finally worked out for you in life or did you find that the door remained closed no matter what?

by Vivamus ini feel so down.

I am the kind of person that just walks away from their problems, instead of confronting them. When people hurt me, I will hardly ever show it, voice my feelings or anything. I will just shut down like a clamp, and lick my wounds in private. When I am unhappy with a relationship, I'll end it.
I usually avoid confrontation at any cost & have extinguished many o? relationships due to that. It?s a defense mechanism that (although may not be the most healthy) works for you. You won?t end up bitter unless you really regret things. SO live life without regret and keep your expectations high. If your expectations are high, then you won?t settle for anything (or anyone) less. NOW I?m off to happy hour for you!

Is it Time For Watchtower Begging Again?
by metatron inalas, some expensive witness traditions have ended - like food service at assemblies or mailed subscriptions.. however, since 1996, the society has had a tradition of begging for money in the november watchtower.. i think they hope rich witnesses will think about re-balancing their portfolios or making changes before the end.
of the taxable year in december.. .
lawyers and new printing facilities ( to be on-line in 2005) cost a lot of money, so look for their appeal soon.. .

Hi I am Caspians sister and this is my first day here.
by Lainey inhello this is my first post and i wanted to introduce myself so here goes.. my name is lainey, and i have not been to the meetings for about 4 years now.. i am 28 and work as a doctor in a big city university hospital as a sho.. also for my sins, i am cassies little sis, and i am staying with him for a little while, as i am signed off sick for the next month with a stress related disorder.. after the death of my older bro and my dad within the past few months, i started suffering from terrible nightmares, most of them connected in some way to my witness upbringing.. me and cassie have talked for some length and he suggested that i spend some time having a look on this site and meeting others who have had similar issues to face in life.. i hope you are all are better listeners than cassie, who tends to fall asleep when i am in the middle of talking to him.
(brothers!!!
) btw he hates being called cassie lol.. anyway i am not a big talker, so i probably wont post a lot, however i am going to scout around for a while.. thanks .

Questions for consideration: Society's move to Patterson
by truthseeker inno doubt many of you are aware of the new project that society is taking on, regarding it's expansion of it's patterson complex, the sale or soon to be sale of its brooklyn building and the new printing presses that cost $50 million.. .
i haven't really thought about why they are doing this, but now i do, some questions come to mind.
i have no answers and would be grateful if someone could give me their best guess.. 1) new york is the best center for transporting goods, you have three airports, rail links and major highways.

You mean I have to drive all the way to Patterson to circle the Watchtower complex three times? There goes my annual holiday Mecca
The area where they curently are is worth a TON of MONEY. They're close to DUMBO (Down under the Manhat. bridge overpass) which is upcscaling their art gallerys, bars - basically becoming the Brooklyn version of SoHo. Overpriced shops with 'culture' attached to it. Plus taxes in NJ are MUCH less than NY, but I don't know how that works for non-profit, NGO, companies. Secluding themselves makes them seem more cultish....very interesting.............

I found this on Excite today
Email this story Oct 6, 10:14 am ET LONDON (Reuters) - Too much text messaging? You may need professional help.
More and more people are succumbing to so called "technology addictions," spending hours tapping on mobile phones or surfing the Internet, one of Britain's best known psychiatric clinics said Saturday.
"There has been a huge rise in behavioral addictions," including excessive texting, said a spokeswoman for the Priory Clinic which treats 6,000 patients a year for a range of addictions including gambling, eating disorders and drugs.
In the Sunday Telegraph newspaper the head of the clinic's addictions unit said some patients were spending up to seven hours a day text messaging.
"We have a situation where some people look down on alcoholics and cocaine addicts, but then go and spend five hours in an Internet chat room," Dr Mark Collins told the paper.
