how is it impossible? I'm asking here because there are some here who have a little more insight/inside scoop.
I heard it rom an apostate website! hahahahhaha
I'm not making claims, I just want to know if anyone else has heard it.
i heard something about the memorial to cease soon.
not anything to do with jesus returning but rather that the number of folks partaking is increasing and the gb can't explain it since it should be decreasing or staying the same.. has anyone heard of this?

my wife is considering to let our kids participate, maybe even celebrate their own birthdays.
she says what can be so bad about just giving a little kid (who doesn't yet understand the bible) a day full of joy and happiness?
she herself actually delayed her own baptism as a teenager in order to celebrate one more birthday.
The reasoning of why birthdays are not celebrated are due to the beheading during the two instances that Jw's bring up in the Bible.
Here is what I bring up, based on the fact that a couple fellows were beheaded during a birthday, we can conclude with the same logic that anything that the end result is a beheading is evil and should be shunned. right?
Now I have two young children at home who take naps every now and then. Are afternoon naps ok? Surely they are not!!!! Those are evil according to the reasoning of a beheading!
2 Samuel 4:5 " So the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, Rechab and Baanah, departed and came to the house of Ish-bosheth in the heat of the day while he was taking his midday rest. 6 They came to the middle of the house as if to get wheat, and they struck him in the belly; and Rechab and Baanah his brother escaped. 7 Now when they came into the house, as he was lying on his bed in his bedroom, they struck him and killed him and beheaded him ."
This is just an example of the inconsistancy in logic. No mother would/or could refuse their child a nap.
my friend's daughter, who was baptized at 14, has decided to leave the witnesses.
she's in her early 20's.
she's stopped going to meeting a while ago and moved in with her father who is disfellowshipped.
"The BIG QUESTION is: Does she give a sh!t if she gets DFd or not?
If not, throw it away and go on with life." -DesirousOfChange
My thoughts exactly. Why play their games anymore?
It's their game and they rewrite the rules to fit, if you don't like it/play well with them, they'll take their ball and go home.
just some thoughts on all the recent things going on.
i'm still recovering from the whole donation arrangement thing.
was speaking to some relatives who are also jw's and they don't really get what is going on but sense in some way that things are not right.
I comment here very little, as I have never been a JW. I do not know what being a JW is like, all I know is what I read and observe within my own famliy and from here. The only thing I can say thedog1, is that you are among people here who have been in your same situation and care about where you are at. If they didn't, they wouldn't be here expressing their thoughts. Being in the position you are in (conducting WT) it makes it very difficult for you to attempt to research and not have it show thru you what you learned. Never stop searching for what it is you want answers to, its in the Bible.
I saw something today that made me think. There was a man in "charge" who did not believe what he himself was saying to his subordinates, but he kept on keeping on. The part that made me think was deep down those who are the leaders must do one of two things: either keep toeing the line and keep to himself until he has had enough, or stand up and make a change. Either way, the outcome was the same. The only thing different was the time it took to get there.
I am not saying you are this or that, it was just something that made me think and if it helps then great, if not let it pass.
note what deuteronomy 18:20 says:.
however, the prophet who presumes to speak in my name a word that i have not commanded him to speak .
that prophet must die.".
So, like it has been said before, the WT is a false prophet proven by both the Bible and by their own teachings.
note what deuteronomy 18:20 says:.
however, the prophet who presumes to speak in my name a word that i have not commanded him to speak .
that prophet must die.".
Good point Island Man, it is NOT just predictions.
when jws come around with their articles asking "is god cruel?
", i often point them to genesis 22:2:.
2 then god said, take your son, your only son, whom you loveisaacand go to the region of moriah.
Here is my take, you can take it or leave it.
God was not testing Abraham for His own sake. God was testing Abraham for Abraham's sake. This was to build the faith within Abraham. God knows before hand everything. Why could God make this promise to Abraham if He would know that Abraham's faith was not going to be strong ehough? God had to prove to Abraham his own faith is strong, and strong enough to carry out the will of God. Ramamber God works in ways we do not always understand. God could just change everything as He wants, but that would remove His created people's free will.
just looking for some pointers, as i was never a jw.
i have an elderette coming over on friday, for another performance.. last week, i was under the impression that she was coming to answer some questions i had.
it quickly became clear that she came with a plan for the "conversation," and we went on an expedition from one passage of the bible to the next, while she made leaping claims, argued with herself and kept me confused and always with more than one question lingering in my mind, while she continued talking and talking.. when i have a conversation with someone, i tend to stop talking when they are speaking.
Just politely ask your question again even after their speech on whatever. I find that when you do this, people will have to acknowledge your question. Explain that it is hard for you to move to the next subject until you have discussed the one you are currently "stuck" on.
if a religion loaned out money - interest free - to its followers, would the authorities view the repayments as being taxable?
if so/not, could the religion legally cancel the debt, and request a donation for the same amount instead, thereby qualifying to claim back tax from the government, which the donors paid?
(in the uk it's called gift aid).
Searcher,
Good question. I am thinking along the lines of interest payments on a home loan and how that is tax deductiable. The owner of that loan doesn't get it but the buyer does. If the loaner negates it, then the buyer doesn't get it anymore but I do wonder if the loaner gets credit or deductions because of a forgivness?
