easter bunnies and santa were all too plausible for children because trusted adults who were otherwise unimpeachable sources of truth and reality assured and reassured kids.
why wouldn't they accept it?jehovah's witness kids didn't have santa, we had armageddon.only this morning i suddenly asked myself why i ever accepted the idea of a war in heaven as even remotely sane.

When I started to show signs of Apostasy(, after having known TTATT), a group of my so called JW associates (All Indians and belong to my state –Tamilnadu), invited me and my wife for dinner. Two of the elders took me to their basement and made me to confess that whether I would like to continue as a faithful JW or not. I said I no longer can be a JW but still would like to continue my friendship with them
They immediately said that they would no longer associate with me and told me to leave. My wife and I left heart broken.
A year later, I wrote my disassociation letter.
Happily my JW wife and mom treat me as usual. That’s a lucky thing for me until now

let us take the only two cases of miracles jesus performed without any request from anybody which would show the very purpose of his ministry:.
1) jesus healed a woman who “was bent over and could not straighten up at all.” (luke 13:11-13).

Why humans believe that they are superior to other species, in the aspect of living forever ?
It’s the fear of death and nothingness after it, which makes them believe in an afterlife. IMO.

Why the term "waking up?"
by Sour Grapes inis the term "waking up" the best way to describe when a jdub starts to have doubts?
to me, it is rather that a jdub realizes that what they have believed for years was a pack of lies and then they have to make a conscious decision if they want to continue to believe in lies or stop being a jdub or just go along for the ride.. it just amazes me how many die-hard jdubs there are despite every failed prophecy about the end coming, the borg being a part of the dreaded wild best united nations, the put down of women in the borg, the massive cover-up of the child abuse in the borg, the willingness to let a child die because they need blood, and the eagerness to shun a child who at the age of 10 got dunked to make mommy and daddy happy only to not want to be a jdub later and have the parents treat them like they are dead because 8 overweight, balding, goofy looking, incoherent men in upper state new york say that are the rules for being a christain.. jehovah's witnesses are a very sad cult that attracts people with emotional, psychological, or medical issues, have very large egos, can't make simple decisions, and believe in the tooth fairy..

Waking up involves sleep. Sleep is a good thing. Sleep refreshes and rejuvenates, occassionaly with some bad dreams. But sleep is essential for every living thing(AS I know of)
Sober is a term I like better. Cult is a place where you get drugged , intoxicated, dull minded, hallucinated or cannot think properly. Once Sober you start to think in reality and in clear terms.

@venus, Yes the Book of Job is total non sense. The most high in the universe has a bet with the most evil, in order to prove a point, at the cost and suffering of numerous Lives
Job's numerous servants are killed, along wih this children. And Christians gloss over this and try to find a moral in this story. Pity on them

How can Jehovah easily kill one of his own people for trying to protect the ark from falling off, or a person who needs firewood? But yet has allowed the most evil being remain in existence? That is just crazy to me!

You need not apologize and you had been very decent in expressing your views.
However, I can’t accept the fact that the Bible has a "richness of moral teachings” as you say.
It may have some good things, but the cruelty, wickedness, ignorance and stupidity it contains overweigh those moralities.
A man is stoned to death for picking sticks on the Sabbath. Daughters seducing and getting pregnant by their father and in another chapter a Daughter in law does the same.
What is the morality on these accounts? It would be very convenient to dismiss these are metaphors. Even if Metaphor, these are nasty things to record in a Supposed word of god.
