  You need not apologize and you had been very decent in expressing your views.

  However, I can’t accept the fact that the Bible has a "richness of moral teachings” as you say.

  It may have some good things, but the cruelty, wickedness, ignorance and stupidity it contains overweigh those moralities.

  A man is stoned to death for picking sticks on the Sabbath. Daughters seducing and getting pregnant by their father and in another chapter a Daughter in law does the same.

  What is the morality on these accounts? It would be very convenient to dismiss these are metaphors. Even if Metaphor, these are nasty things to record in a Supposed word of god.

  Satan isn't an actual being. He's used to represent the evil in ourselves

  Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor.

  The problem with this story is that the earth must be flat for it to work. From a tall mountain it is impossible to see "all the kingdoms." Even standing on Mt. Everest, the tallest mountain on earth, the farthest you could see is 250 miles to the horizon [ref]. Yet we know that at the time of Jesus, there were thriving kingdoms in China, India, South America, Europe, etc. So clearly this story could not have happened.

  This account in the Bible was written by some guy who thought that the earth was flat.

  For any modern man, this is the most ridiculous and Bizarre event to believe, hence see how the “GB twist masters” give an Explanation about this in their “Greatest Man” book.

  Satan showed Jesus, all the Kingdoms of the Earth through some “miraculous means”

  So the GB here Override what the Bible says. Blatant attempt to mask what the Bible says. Isn’t this Blasphemy ? Trying to Outsmart Jehovah?

  I pointed this out to couple of elders, while I was still in. Still they blindly supported the GB’s explanation

  Bible comes alive if we look for meaning behind the symbols it uses

  bible contains too much human thinking presented as though from god, thus much of its information brings dishonor to god.. yet it contains great beneficial truths behind the symbols it uses.

  let us take the only two cases of miracles jesus performed without any request from anybody which would show the very purpose of his ministry:.

  1) jesus healed a woman who “was bent over and could not straighten up at all.” (luke 13:11-13).

  Luke 14: 26: If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters — yes, even his own life — he cannot be My disciple.

  Luke 19: 27: And these enemies of mine, who were unwilling for me to rule over them, bring them here and slay them in front of me.

  Banners for London Protest

  hi folks, i’m attending the london protest at the excel convention in august and am making some banners.

  i’m aiming for short but memorable sentences that will stick in jws minds and also make them laugh a little at their own organisation.. my best so far is ‘this is not a protest, it’s an overlapping protest’.

  has anyone got any ideas for more?.

  I see many commenting here about the convention not mentioning about Jesus. Even if they had, so what? Is Jesus truly a historical figure, truly the son of God, truly performed miracles, all his prophecies came true?

  The way Jesus said to leave our family and follow him, makes him a cult leader too.

  This year’s convention

  two things i noted at this year’s rc.

  1) the new teaching with respect to matthew 25:45 which was applied equally to the rank & file jw.

  this teaching is also found in the watchtower study for last sunday.. then he will answer them, saying: ‘truly i say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of these least ones, you did not do it to me.. 2) the new armageddon video which was a big shift.
