i simply cannot spill my guts to my wife and children as it would be family suicide.

I was a JW and quit 8 years ago. My mom and wife are still in but no repercussions.

Exactly!! . Religion is nothing but advertising. Especially Christianity and specifically those who go door to door. Like selling cosmetics.
At least if you buy or sell cosmetics, you get some tangible benefits!!!

something that bothered me even when i was a watchtower company drone was the thought of dying and being resurrected in paradise.
would the resurrected person really be me or just a copy of me?
if god could recreate one of me, he could also recreate five of me.
Jah willing, if I am resurrected, it would be pretty scary for me to see the dead (Pre me) break their tombs and rise.

about everytime i go to the grocery store just after sunrise, i can see the witnesses sitting and waiting inside their cars to distribute literature.
it is not against the law for them to do that.
i was wondering do they allow parking lot witnessing in your area?.
17 years ago when I was in, the congregation in Dallas - USA used to gather for field service at 5 AM and then we would go to bus stops, parking lots and Dunkin Donuts to do the witnessing.

this thread is quite morbid so i apologize in advance.. a few days ago i was having a conversation with my girlfriend in which she mentioned in passing that she's signed up to donate her organs after her death.
i was quite surprised because she mentioned it like it was no big deal.
i asked her which organs.
Organ donations seem the best of all donations. I have told my wife to donate my organs when dead. I know I can sign up for this in my drivers License. Is there any other will I should write for this in USA ?
i have been reading this book called " the two powers in heaven " .. the readers digest version is basically there was a first century belief of kind of a dual god system in the old testament.
god is invisible and yet he appears at the " word of the lord " or " the angel of the lord ".
basically any time god was visible and dealing with humans in a touchable , see able manner , it was though to be christ.
The very Existence of the Christian Jesus is still debated.
I don't think any of the New testament writers had ever met the supposed Jesus, even if he had roamed around. They simply thought that Jesus was the Messiah, based on oral traditions.
hello everyone, my wife wants nothing to do with my awakening.
every time i try explaining something she tells me she doesn't want to hear it.
i believe she's afraid of learning something she's not ready for.
Same situation here Brother. They wont listen coz they are continuously brainwashed that we are evil. Takes a lot of patience. Use every favorable situation to question her about the WT and/or the Bible. Don't lose your cool. And also assure her that you would still love her, unconditionally.
That's what I am doing and I hope someday it would work
