Evangelical churches should had learned this problem from Catholic Church. After Reformation it became clear that Catholic missionaries and indoctrination of European population would not work. Many Catholics openly debated back then to abandon dammed Europeans souls and put missionaries into newly discovered tribes that became gullible toward the work of the Catholic missions. Evangelicals from 1850's onward repeat the same concept as did Papacy centuries ago. The proselyting had worked into certain degrees for American based protestants, but this was worked for generations born well prior WWII and has nothing else to offer to masses after WWII. Apathy toward religion and decrease of church affiliation is one reason why "Old evangelism is now consigned to history. It’s dead and the church is dying." -

Disfellowship, Disassociate, or fade. What would you do different.
by John Aquila inhindsight: .
many times because of the shock of learning ttatt, a person loses it.
you want to scream and tell the whole world that the watchtower is a big lie.

I grew up in it and was involved until I was in my 20's. I had doubts entire time, especially when my father refused to get baptized and called the JW religion based lies and BS. After study book of Revelation, I seen his view that this cannot be God' channel of communication, and I just walked away. Suddenly. I have not read TTATT, nothing of these, until 20 years later. Immediately I started to have productive live, went to school, earned both undergrad and postgrad degrees, and have a corporate career.
My advice depending on the age,is, live your life to the fullest and responsibly. Save money for retirement, and enjoy life free of dogma. Some of you will need to see a specialist to deal the shock or feeling being spiritually deceived. The person who helped ending the mental bond with JW was rabbi. I always like history and we studied OT and Jewish faith. I helped me to break away from Christian indoctrination. While I did not become Jew, years later, I met a wonderful Jewish person and the rest is history.

I talked to my mom this weekend, and she mentioned the disappointment that she won't see the new world as she hoped when she joined 40+ years ago. She said that all the people she knew in KH are dying without ever live through Armageddon. She felt bit a bitter, but accepted the fact she will die without ever see the new system. -

California Out of Water Soon
by Village Idiot inlook closely at the figures below and see how much water california has left from its major source of water the sierra mountains:.
my advice, not that any politician would take it, would be to eliminate most agriculture in the state.
almonds, rice and alfalfa, are all thirsty water guzzling crops that neither those in california nor the rest of the nation needs.

VI, west and southwest have cyclical weather and it is one the best studied phenomena of the wet/dry years on this planet. While the wet years wont fix the drought, current water year is running 20-30% higher than it was last years. What kind of weather CA/NV/AZ/OR will have in next five years is anyone guess. California definitely needs to eliminate a lot of farming that demands high amount of water, like rice. I see bigger issue with depleted aquifers and they may not be refiled even with decade of persistent wet years. -

Are Elders experts on the Bible? Are they spirtually qualified men?
by John Aquila inhow many times have elders read their bible in its entirety?
these are the leaders that give counsel to married couples, to teenagers, to single girls and single boys on everything from marriage, education, sex, association, dress, and recreation..
how well do they know their bible?

Generally, Elders do not know what is written in the Bible, but there are exception. I had elder who was extremely knowledgeable and eventually he and his wife faded away. I also knew elder, who barely read Bible, but remember what is written in WT publication in the past ten years. -

Drought will be a major problem for California and most of the Pacific West. However, there is a good chance that this summer in the west coast will be cooler than average, and with it the summer drought wont be as severe. For this water year that started in October 1, 2014 the average rainfall in California is on 55-70%, while year ago there were much lower.
http://www.cnrfc.noaa.gov/awipsProducts/RNOWRKCLI.php
Couple weeks ago there was article that California maybe entering a period of above average rainfall in 2016-2020 before it experience multi-year drought yet again.

Hope y'all in Texas are doing OK !
by Simon insome terrible flooding happening there.. i never realized that texas was so prone to serious floods and flash-floods because of the geography and weather.
it tops the stats nearly every year for flood fatalities.. stay safe, stay dry if you can and don't take any chances.
water is unbelievably powerful - whatever vehicle you have it can sweep it away like a twig.

Pretty much everywhere in the world you can encounter major flooding. Texas had been prone to flooding, especially after hurricanes, but also suffer with drought. Additionally, some areas are close to sea level or even foot below like New Orleans, because they were built on swamp and are sinking, so even little rain can cause flooding. Another problem which is prevalent to all of USA and Europe is neglected waterway infrastructure. Ditches, polders, dykes, and coastal barriers are neglected, eroded or dysfunctional. Even Germany in past 20 years suffered with huge floods 1997, 2002, 2008, 2010, which could be minimized if the hydrology was properly maintained. In Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, and elsewhere, they issue is environmental protection ideology, which took precedence over saving lives, infrastructure, and property. -

"Make a list of people you want to meet in the New System!" (New September Watchtower)
by FusionTheism inwatchtower september 2015 study edition, "stand firm in the faith," paragraphs 16 and 17:.
following jesus example, we must read the bible daily, study it, and meditate on what we learn.
along with general bible study, dig into topics about which you may have questions.. you can imitate jesus by meditating on the wonderful promises jehovah has made to you.

Question is if the other people would be interested to meet up with you at all. I remember my elder dreamed to meet with Da Vinci in the new system. -

How much sediment would have been moved in Noah's flood?
by Zoos ini flew over this crate yesterday on my return home from las vegas.. .
they say this crater was created by an asteroid about 50,000 years ago.
then about 6000 years ago, presumably, god wiped out all life on earth with a global flood.. how much sediment would have been moved around during that flood.

Interesting feature of European neolithic is continuous human settlement, while underlying ethnic groups had changed and intermingled as can be evident from pottery and sites. A good example is Beaker culture and Corded Ware culture which existed at the same time as supposed Deluge. These people built Stonehenge and hundreds of sites around continent from Iberian peninsula to British Islands to Central Europe and Carpathian basin. The civilization ended around 1800 BC after 1000 years of continuous existence after introduction of bronze into the culture. Some sites were inhabited for several hundreds of years of continuous human presence and had yield hundreds of skeletons. There are DNA studies done across Europe on this culture to pinpoint ancestry of Indo-european population and they are interest for origin of proto-Celtic and and Balto-germanic nations. None of these studies had ever uncovered a global deluge and total annihilation out of population in the 2200 BC. There was a significant collapse of Bronze age civilization in Europe around 1600BC as a result of Thera explosion and subsequent mass migration of population southward due sudden cooling of the northern hemisphere. Science can pinpoint this explosion to accuracy of 50 years, yet, nobody ever discovered any evidence of global flood in neolithic/bronze age.
