Also virginity is bad for women due higher risk of breast cancer. Having lost two friends recently to it, and one of them was single and never married, I do not think there is much value in keeping virginity intact. Nuns have one of the highest incidence of breast cancer.

I remember teaching around mid 1980's where it was said that virginity was sacred. I do not remember in which book study or WT, but the topic was encouraged virginity. One young sister wanted to be virgin until her marriage with the rigth borther. But nobody has appeared, and 25 years later in her 40's, she is totally alone, no kids, no husband, nothing. And she was really pretty.

Are we approaching the Waco/Jonestown/Heaven's Gate finale?
by JimmyPage inlarge groups are being gathered to video screens to blatantly worship the governing body.
this self-proclaimed faithful slave show no signs of softening their treatment of the flock.
their backs are against the wall and the legal world is turning against them in a big way.

Nope, the GB loved the attention and worship of 8 millions of suckers. The worship is what is giving them a reason and money is just little added bonus for very comfortable life. These people will never go the Waco way. Traveling all over the world, resting in best hotels, designer cloths. People like these see the death with sadness because they ave to leave it behind.

BOR, the democractic system all over the world is not efficient and USA is not exception. However, there is very little alternative political alertnativse which would either result of right/left wing dicatorship, absolutims, or oligarchy. Combine with massive apathy of potential voters who do not care at all about politics, this only increased the change for extremism to thrive. GOP at present form is extremist, neofascist party (as seen by non American observers), which based its grassroot support among aged or impoverished demographics, while middle class does not feel to be represented by Democrats and thus does not vote. Either way, every society has type of goverment its deserves. If people do not want ACA but faith based healthcare, retirement, education, and want to be ruled by OT laws, be it. 2000 years of failed governments based on Christianity speaks on its own. They could not deserve anything else.
Biggest problem for the health of te democracy is failing democratic standards. In the freedom of press, USA is not even in top 25 countries. There is a huge quality difference between British, French and Austrian (yes Austrian, NOT GERMAN nor Australian) newspapers and media, and American one. Free and independent media is the first step for better public service instead radiating propaganda from specific lobby groups. But people love its media and this will not change in out life time if ever.
One of the bloodiest dictatror of the 18th century, Maximiliane Robespierre wrote:
What is our aim?
It is the use of the constitution for the benefit of the people.
Who is likely to oppose us?
The rich and the corrupt.
What methods will they employ?
Slander and hypocrisy.
What factors will encourage the use of such means?
The ignorance of the sans-culottes.
The people therefore must be instructed.
What are the obstacles to their enlightenment?
The paid journalists who mislead the people every day by shameless distortions.
What conclusion follows?
That we ought to proscribe these writers as the most dangerous enemies of the country and to circulate an abundance of good literature.
The people- what other obstacle is there to their instruction?
Their destitution.
When will the people be educated?
When they have enough bread to eat, when the rich and the government stop bribing treacherous pens and rogues to deceive them and instead identify their own interests with those of the people.
When will this be?
Never.I disagree with Jacobins and everything what they stood for, but problem with media and generally ignorance of masses will be always obstacle to the enlightenment. This was known 221 years ago and anyone can make own conclucion...

In my time at KH, women never had skirts above knee, always between ground and the calves. No maxi cut blouze and no stilleto heel pumps.

The time or the lenght of the skirt had changed. JWs moved fashion from 1950's to 1970's. In my old KH it was always below the knee.

The PURE Language - Finaly
by Ish Elon inwho knows how many scribal errors the book we call 'the bible' contains?
the book of the law as written by the hand of moses has been found once more.
king josiah was the last king to see it and jeremiah the last prophet.

Some ex-JWs feels that they have extra special fifht-sixth-9 x sence that allows them to communicate with God, and have find meaning in the Bible and its prophecies; and are on mission to spread out their dellusions. Some of the started "speak languages" and do rain dances.
I would be interested to read the old scroll for a personal interest, as I have read Homer, Ovid, or Jordanes, but nothing more.

Hortensia, politics does not last too long and in two years this election will be forgotten. It is politics that is fluid and nothing to get hang on. When Obama was elected, Texas and rest of the Bible Belt wanted to secede. Rural areas wanted their own state from state, where large urban cities voted blue. Yet the rural areas are overrepresented by political power. Posts were full of evangelical christians who wanted to move to Uganda or Malawi where there was "true" Christian paradise without all these faggots getting equal rights...
Magnum when I see present republicans I see evangelical right wing extremists having much closer to the European fascism of the 1920's and far from moderate, internationally respected party of Reagan or Eisenhower. Religion is a private matter and does not belong to politics. I do not care about anyone religion as it is not forced upon me. The same is for me sexuality, which belongs to bedroom and not in public regardless it is gay or straight. Free love tree hugging hippies are nothing for me either. Current GOP creed feels to me who does not agree with us is against and must be leftist, liberal, etc. which I am not. I love army and support it. I am against socialized economy and welfare as way of living which many D are pushing. World is far too complex than from the isolated communities of the flyover counties by population that see the time through 1950's glasses. Either way, believing in "D" and "R" as way to solve everything is illusion. It is politics and game. Nothing more. Politicians from every spectrum do not care about you nor have any other interest from you than get your vote. This was known to Founding Fathers or French political philosophers of the 18th century. Also find out what Thomas Paine though of minimum or living wage 220 years ago... What USA needs is moderate party. When democracy goes limps only on left or right, there is always a problem.
