all things are made of the same materials etc so humans will always be fused with the universe in life and death because those building blocks are eternal.

Do you even listen to yourself?
by doneandout inthe other night, the elder was getting us ready for our convention.
as i sat there, i was thinking, 'do you even listen to yourself?
' everything thing he said, said its going to suck.. bring a hat: its going to be sunny, prepared to get sunburned.. bring plenty of water: its going to be hot and sweaty.. parking is going to be bad: prepare to walk a mile to the site.. bring a fm radio: its going to be echoy inside.. .

Can you even begin to imagine the revulsion of any public person who unwittingly attends a JW convention? After about 3 hours they would be thinking WTF??? Then running to the nearest exit. Probably very similar to the poor householders who actually show up at the Memorial or Special Talk because of an 'invitation' left by a door to door drone. They probably pinch themselves in order to see if they are in some sort of sick and twisted bad dream.

I feel so bad for those that are obligated to attend these borefests. At the least take notes concerning any stupid remarks during the speeches. Then report them to us on this forum. We need a few good laughs.

"100 years of kingdom rule" so what?? what does it mean??
by stuckinarut2 ini cant stop the nagging thoughts in relation to the hype about "100 years of kingdom rule" !.
what is the significance?
why make such a big deal about something like that?.

Great idea: All JW conventions should include stage productions of 'Waiting for Godot'. Wonder if that would cause a few mental lightbulbs to illuminate.

How would you define RELIGION, and why?
by Fernando in"judge" rutherford defined or classified all religion as "a snare and a racket" in his books "religion" and "enemies".. after rutherford's death in 1942, his protege, watchtower vice president, and aclu darling, hayden c. covington, in the early 1950's, for reasons of legal expedience and supremacist aspirations, suddenly converted the watchtower into a religion.. this was done alongside one of the most audacious, spurious and longstanding swindles of the us legal system.
this involved twisting philippians 1:7 and misrepresenting the watchtower's true nature, objectives and activities.. .
this meant that it became necessary for the watchtower to suddenly reclassify and redefine religion (w51 1/15 p. 43 new legal booklet well named; w51 8/15 p. 511 questions from readers; yb75 p. 161 part 2 "for gladys bolton...").. two new watchtower classifications were suddenly created: "true religion" and "false religion".. now "true religion" meant "true beliefs" whilst "belief" in ever changing watchtower doctrine was equated with the one "faith" of scripture.. all this while the watchtower increasingly and maliciously truncated, obfuscated and hid the liberating full "good news" (or unabridged gospel) of scripture, which it lyingly claimed (in court) that it was actually "defending and legally establishing".. how would you have defined religion before learning ttatt?.

Religion is a fanciful set of beliefs that are adopted as being The Truth by a large number of people. Very often these beliefs center around an 'infallible' god-man (or woman) and an explanation about 'where we go after death'. Often adherents will fight tooth and claw to defend their beliefs, against all evidence that the beliefs are utter nonsense. Most religions base their knowledge of the universe on mystical ancient stories, rather than scientific information. The moral of this is: Stay away from all religions!!! Think for yourself!!

What I would say to the brother getting ready to baptize me: 'Please drown me now, that's preferable to living as a Jehovah's Witness'.

Questions to ask God while in a Lucid Dream...?
by EndofMysteries inassume that all 'visions' in the bible, including revelation, etc, were actually real and they happened while those people were lucid dreaming or in a lucid state.
assume that if god or angels were to speak to you, that is the way in which they would do it.
the 3 questions are about anything and the proof question is asking him something so you can verify the answer or the answer will give you absolute proof that it was him you were speaking to and it was not just in your subconscious making him up and the answers.

Biblical verses my JW mom gave me for shunning
by bsand20 injohn 2:9-11-anyone who claims to be in the light but hates a brother or sister[a] is still in the darkness.
10 anyone who loves their brother and sister[b] lives in the light, and there is nothing in them to make them stumble.
11 but anyone who hates a brother or sister is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness.

I, for one, couldn't care less what the Bible says on ANY subject. It's really all just utter nonsense. I will tell this to the next Witness who comes to my door: Come into the 21st Century and stop salivating over something written thousands of years ago. I don't care whose 'interpretation' it is.....I refuse to buy into such rubbish.

Pick a specific date to quit being involved with the Witnesses. Any date will do...but the sooner the better. Then follow thru with it. Just CHOOSE to stop attending. No discussion or explanations needed. Your wife will piss and moan.....let her do it but DO NOT give in. Tell her you just can't do the JW thing any longer in order to preserve your mental and physical health. If the elders come around, just at most tell them you are having severe anxiety and cannot continue with meetings or antything else. Then just end the discussion. Your wife will get over it one way or another. Just stay true to yourself and your choices. Remember: the life we live is mostly determined by the CHOICES we make!!

Here's a great question to ask: If a GB pronouncement was in direct conflict with the Bible's words, which would you believe??
