I Have A Problem With the Shepherding Kids article on Cedars Blog

go ahead and rip me to shredds, been in the elder's backroom sooo many times i'am use to it.. "cedar's blog" is usually really good, but i see a error being created here:.

One of my older kids is going through a period of being really quite about life. It's the third year of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo ending and her rage against the Watchtower is at a all time high. My child is angry we did not allow after-school Sports and other things.

I apologized to all my kids, asked them for forgiveness because I was throughly deceived by the Borg. This kid was 16.5 years old when we pulled her out of High School and put her in Cuesta College. The oldest child know's this is not the Truth, I have the most open line of communication and know what she is thinking because she tells Daddy everything. She's 26 years old, known for four or five years we are fading and I can't get her to take the stand with her four other siblings (their way gone!). My 15 year old is playing high school tennis and basket ball plus helps on the Swim Team!

We celebrated the birthday of our baby, accidentally we had a baby five years ago and it's a boy! How do I get in touch with my twenty-year old girl, she won't tell me anything anymore other than "Why were you so tricked so long? Did you enjoy the fact I hated most of the Kingdom Hall kids and their harrassment?" That's why I am taking issue with Cedar's Blog, I want to know my kids and help them through our transistion from Cult to functional and productive Citizen. I registered to vote, so did she, we did it together and she won't tell me who she voted for!

Let me add, I was deceived because I was a fourth gen Witness and all my aunts and uncles were JWs, peer pressure greatly! I refuse to allow men like the Borg or Governing Gumbies or Elders any say in their lives! I know they are wicked men and have ruined many good peoples lifes on JWN and off-JWN, they are the reason many of us did not go to college and wasted our time being Sin Sniffing Mall Cops! I agree with the anti-Witness info along with the author's eye to beware of Watchtower Propaganda! I just want him to say that "parents should get to know their kids dreams, hopes and thoughts and allow them to share their concerns so we can have a real family after the Borg!"

sold ducks today opposite JW cart

today my husband and i sold plastic ducks for the annual duck racing fund raising event opposite a jw cart.

in the 2hour period we sold over a 100 ducks putting our jw training to good use proactively approaching people, overcoming objections and generally wishing people success.

cantleave went round the local businesses selling to the shops and generally was received positively.

How much land do I need to raise ducks? I heard they are incredible at destroying bugs and snail problems. Do you ship ducks or is this something I should buy locally?

What can I do to protect them from Foxes, Coyotes and Predators? Please advice!

i can honestly say that although still in, i have lost the fear of wts dooms day version and in all sincerity i don't care what others inside the cult think of me.

at first i was mad of being lied to, i was sad that paradise is not coming, and i felt fear of death.

i happy to report, that i am now at peace with my eventual mortality and i am enjoying every second i have while i am alive.. .

Billy and Blondie, how does a scared ex-JW develop a life after the Borg? I am making Worldy Friends and happy two of my ilk have left the Borg too. Do you miss some of the Witnesses who were really good people? How do we manage past this pain, eventually I know they are going to leave me and my ilk(Sister's coined word for my kids, she's a good JW Aunt, Not!) alone and all my friends I love will disown me like I say happen to a member on JWN, they slander he badly even though everything they say is lies!

Miss Blondie, you are so dang smart, I enjoy reading your words and wonder if you might have become the Editor in Chief of New York Times or some other high profile job if the Borg had not attack our personal skills. Everyone else who helped me, thank you again, thank you so much. I had a dream last night my Mom was screaming at me for asking this question (this really happened) and she said (Your bringing shame again to Jehovah), why can't we have individual goals in life without men asking us to obey them?

Why was I so stupid and never asked "Hey, where's Joe's wife and kid?" Your information is valuable as I untangle myself from the Borg. I met a new friend who was a special pioneer in Porterville, Fresno and Bakersfield California, he left the Organization because his wife ran off with a CO! strange days for us?

Granted, the author (not Cedar) qualifies it by saying it's the motive to get them baptized. But the statement above is actually good advice and essential to good parenting. Getting to know our kids thoughts is not manipulative, rather, it enables us to see if they are depressed, homicidal, weak, hard-working, fearful, etc. We can (not talking about the Borg) here, help them be productive people if we know them. Is the author trying to suggest the opposite? That we know nothing about them so as not to manipulate and then be shocked at future behavior? Knowing our kids is fundamental and our JOB as parents.

On this thought, kudos to Eric Bottorff (RayPublisher) because while he's not in the borg anymore, he has a close relationship with his girls that will serve them well for their entire lifetime. He spent and spends lots of time knowing their personalities and he's a good dad, no, great dad.

Protect the elderly

this weeks km is telling elders to arrange for group studies with people in local nursing homes, with instructions on how to word things when speaking to the directors etc.. they are clearly trying to get to people who may not be entirely able to think for themselves or who may lack critical thinking and yet may have money to leave to them.. what can you do?.

well, if you wanted to, write a short and simple letter or email to your local care home, perhaps directly even speak to the director yourself... warn them about the brainwashing and danger of breaking up of families etc.

the km says they should identify themselves as jw's... .

This is one of those projects that look good on paper, a troubling issue that bugs the consciences of real Christians who actually care! You all remember how uncomfortable it was to get your Book Study Group to include the modern type of weak publishers "sinners, harlots and tax-collectors" type, or the Single Parent Mothers with their kids to our Incredible Back Slapping Circuit Overseer Feasts? The Pious don't like weak and infrequent Meeting Attenders to ruin their Elder and Pioneer Love Feasts!

We can ignore this KM, it's one of the areas were allowed to disregard because Rest Homes don't have productive producers and bring the "Kingdom Hall" Hourly-Average down below the Mighty National-Average if we include them in our Hall. That's why it's highly recommend to wait for another Group to check on the Elderly in the Rest Home because their a uncomfortable reminder we probably won't see the New System in our life.

Let's pass on this, just let it pass please!

hey :).

for a while, i've sort of been wondering why i always check in with this board... i mean it's filled with great people of course - and is my only link to what's happening in the jw world, but i shouldn't care that much... i'm not a jw, neither is my husband - it's only his batshit crazy family who are and it shouldn't bother me that much.. however it does interfere with my life and when i'm around them, they do somehow manage to make me feel like crap.

i think it's all mad and they are most definitely stuck in a cult, however my husband - who grew up as a jw just sort of shrugs his shoulders and is a bit 'it is what it is' - it doesn't seem to offend him as much as it does me.... every time that i hear about a new change or scandal on here, i think 'surely this will be what wakes them up'!

We made fun of Jim and Tammy Faye and the Fake Judge was driving two cars worth $160,000 (present day dollar valuation) while families were standing in Soup Lines. These are cars men like JP Morgan, rich Old Money were driving, not some punk ass Con Man Religious Hack!

The Judge built a Mansion and bragged on Print, JWs sold their farms and homes Pre-1925 and lived in Tent-Cars while Joe Blow Rutherford was living like a god!

Think of the old Gallo Wine Commerical, "We Will Sell No Wine Before It's Time", that's how it works with JWs. Nobody is going to realize it's the Long Con until they realize there is "loving brotherhood", people at the Kingdom Halls are self-serving and users. Elders and their wives share Judicial Confidential Matters with the entire family.

I meet another JW who left the Organization years ago, we reconnected and it took him five years from his first major doubt-shocker before the Fade began. You would think being a very special pioneer would merit much attention and "love bombing", nope! They allowed him to leave without any fuss.
