I gave in to the pressure and regular pioneered for just over 2 years. I also aux pioneered a few times. I eventually got bored with it. I just didn't enjoy going out to preach things that no one wanted to hear anyway.

a few times a year, the society really promotes pioneering.they will devote service meeting talks and parts stressing the need to regular or auxiliary pioneer.
at the assemblies and at the district convention, they will try to shame you into pioneering.
they give examples of 85 year old parapalegics that "made room in their lives" to pioneer.

my dreams are not just like "dreams.
" they are like memories to me, and my mind can create something when i sleep with the most vivid colors, feelings, sounds, cold or damp or wet or smothering heat.
it all seems so real to me.
I can usually remember my dreams. I used to dream while awake occasionally due to a sleep disorder, which has been corrected. I always dream in color as far as I know. Some dreams are sexual, but most aren't. I often dream of being in a high place, and I've fallen a few times. Once I woke up just as I landed and jumped about a foot off the bed. I've had another recurring dream of myself at a circuit assembly talking to my former PO. I'm always smoking a cigar in there.
Alot of times I'll dream that I'm posting here on the board, chatting in yahoo, or checking email.
I must be online too much.

okay guys - planning my summer vacations and i wanna know - can we make this happen or what????.
decent campgrounds fill up pretty quick, so i'd like to look into some.
i know nova scotia & ontario are many moons apart, and there was discussion of 2 separate fests.. if there are 2 separate ones, owens sound area, ontario has some pretty cool campgrounds.. who's in???
How far are you willing to drive? There are some nice places along Lake Huron and the Bruce Peninsula.
Here's some links:

Koa near Owen Sound

Then, there's Evergreen Resort near Wiarton.

It's owned by Dubs, and they sometimes have a Sunday morning Watchtower study in the dining room that we could disrupt. Hahaha!!! Ok, sorry, just kidding. Yeah, I'm a sicko. But at least they have a whirlpool!!!
I'll try to find more.

....save the "the day i got out" posts, surely some here can dreg up some happy times of when they were witnesses, it can't all be negative.
for me, i can remember some great people, some do's some co's some elders, some pioneers some just plain ol' publishers like me.
come on everyone.......dig deep now.....
I had a few good experiences as a JW, but those memories have become painful since I found out the truth about the org. Now I view even those happy experiences as a waste of time.

whether jw or not, if you are a christian and believe in eternal reward/punishment i have a question for you: .
how is it logical or fair that what one does in a finite realm will have infinite consequences?
bradley
I used to be a badass. Then I was a JW. I prefer the badass, so I guess my nature is pretty much fixed. Being good was just too boring. I don't think I could stand it for too long.
Living eternally as a JW is about the same as being eternally dead.

It's not logical or fair, any more so than it would be fair to give a smoker the same punishment as that given to someone guilty of atrocities - eternal nonexistance as the JW's claim.
Whatever bliss or hell we experience is in this life, and much of it is of our own making.

10 things every apostate should do in 10 years
drive a chopper or wickedly cool car, even if you have to rent it.
when you were a dub, you were under constant pressure to own and use a vehicle for ?service work.?
1. You must not backslide into cultism.
2. Be filled with Holy Spirits, particularly Wellington Lager and single malt Scotch.
3. Do not forsake the gathering of yourselves together at monthly Apostofests.
4. You must not covet the beer, liquor, or narcotic of your fellowman/woman. Bring your own and be willing to share.
5. A cord of three strands is stronger than two, or one. Threesomes are to be encouraged.
6. An expletive spoken, or shouted at the proper time accomplishes more than a dozen scriptures.
7. Take in spiritual food daily at JWD.
8. Vote Liberal.
9. Put on the full suit of armour - or something - and go to a Halloween party.
10. Worship the Goddess Clitora and render her service day and night.

today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend by the name of common sense who has been with us for many years.
no one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.
he will be remembered for having cultivated such valued lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm and that life isn't always fair.
Good post Scully!
As per Aztec's comment, I'm reading 'The Death of Common Sense' now. Very interesting read.

it's autumn, and this is thanksgiving weekend in canada.. i'd thought i'd take a moment out to reflect on what i am thankful for, and ask, what are you thankful for?.
this is my favourite time of year.
crisp, fresh air.
I went up to the Bancroft Ont. area with some friends for the long weekend. Weather was great, except for some rain on Sunday. Some of us stayed in cottages, motels, or campgrounds. It was a pretty good party all around.
Turkeyday dinner was a huge disappointment though. Went to a restaurant for it and was charged $17.50 for turkey dinner. It's just as well the portions were small, the food tasted bad anyway.
Well, maybe I'll console myself with Kentucky chicken tonight. I've still got a bottle of good Scotch...
