  my still-in wife has asked we prepare a "go-bag" with all the stuff we need in case of a natural disaster....we live in a country where there is none!.

  but when i asked where this all came from she mentioned hurricanes etc but again we live in an area where they can never be things like this.. thus i suspect this is a society based instruction...can anyone enlighten me?.

  are the society advising dubs to be doom preppers???

  If she is using the actual term "go-bag" she probably wants to feel like she is following "The Slaves" direction and also let's her be able to say yes that she has a go-bag prepared when the subject comes up.

  i think everyone here can agree that walking down the street, even in the middle of the street, is not cause for having a clip emptied in your ass......... i can understand how the black community would be outraged by the injustice of seeing another black man dead in the street at the hands of the police under mysterious circumstances....... i hope that i'm not succumbing to the attempts to assinate the already well impuned character of the dead man...... however.

  i can't help but think that this could all have been avoided by exercising the proper discretion with fore-knowledge of the disadvantages people of color have when they are dealing with law enforcement in the united states.

  it is not as if this disadvantage has only since recently came to light.

  There is a lesson to be learned here if you think that all police officers are white racists just waiting for an opportunity to confront you and execute you.

  The next time you just finished robbing a store and assaulting the store worker, and minutes later you feel you need to walk down the middle of a marked divided road instead of walking on the sidewalk. When a police officer stops and tells you to get out of the middle of the road.....YOU GET OUT OF THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD.

  You get out of the middle of the road and the police officer will probably go about their way. If you really think & feel that all police are white racist murderers, then by following their instructions to get out of the middle of the road you decrease the chances of a confrontation with the police officer, and you probably increase your chances of getting away with the robbery & assault you commited minutes earlier.

  That's awesome logic. I also like what Phizzy said today about the logic of the JW.Org campaign. JW's "visiting" people's doors to only hand them a JW.Org tract to visit the JW.Org website and "request a JW visit". LOL

  I did this one time. I was still "in FS training" and a zealot elder wanted us to troll (troll had different meaning then-LOL) the cemetary to talk to people. It was very weird and I never did it again. Looking back I don't know what he was thinking, unless this approach was on a recent service meeting, or he just wanted to get this on his "theocratic resume".

  out of date references at assembly

  at the last district convention i remember feeling really embarrassed by the out of date references made about wars and other issues.

  for instance, they talked about the hutus and tootises also the serbs and croatians when they talked about war.

  they also talked about dr spock telling people not to smack children.

  My wife sees the lack of love and.. Any suggestions on how to proceed?

  in the past few weeks, my wife has been seeing more and more the lack of love and caring from jws.

  for example, she is organizing a "princess party" for our 4 year old daughter.

  a couple of the parents have expressed reservations about this since they think princesses may be "too magical" even though we know they have been to disneyworld, and watch the disney channel.

  BU2B......if you don't already know about it.....show your wife the link below of inside the Kingdom Hall people dressed like cowboys doing country line dancing to the song Footloose with a poster on the wall behind the platform of salon doors that say "Party Time". This will do 2 things. (1) It will shock the hell out of her and wake her up more to this hypocritical cult. (2) It will give her amo to show the hyper-sensitive JW's that there is nothing wrong with a "Princess party" if people are doing line dancing to Footloose on the KH platform.
