Cuz you don't want to give anybody that's gettin ya down the satisfaction of knowing/thinking they succeeded!
And when things seem really bad it usually means they can only get better.
Hang in there!

after reading so many experiences about how being a jw affected a person's life, i wonder how your life has turned out because you were at one time a witness.
I am more affected by disfunctional family issues. I think being raised a witness at the most basic level gave me some decent values and morals or a basis for forming my own beliefs and lifestyle. Although I am sure that can be said of any religion or belief system as there are many things I have written here that make me wonder about the WTS.
not really sure what brought this on but lately i have been thinking about what i have done with my life and what i want to do with it.. as a jw we weren't really supposed to have dreams of the future unless it involved a paradise earth and immortality.
i can remember dreams of granduer in the entertainment field amongst other things.. i think it might be the fact that in a few years i will be at that *gasp* dreaded age (yeah its only 30 but its still a big deal for me) and feeling like i haven't accomplished anything with my life.
am i depressed?
I hear ya. There is something to be said for children who are allowed to have friends (not just the ones in the church/hall), & who can play sports, join drama club or be involved in extra carricular activities that don't involve preaching/studying/meetings. Many witness families I know limit there childrens development socially and crush there dreams inadvertantly by not allowing them to live a normal childhood filled with all sorts of childhood fun! Or later in life by discouraging further education they limit the childs potential in the workforce.
I used to want to fly a fighter jet or be a ballerina (so opposite)... but mostly I wanted to be a mom. Hopefully one day I will realize that dream. In any case I have a few friends (Non JW) who are also almost 30 and still trying to figure out what they want to be when they grow up...a few of them have just ventured back into school to realize there dreams.
I say whatever you dream to be or do - pursue it! To me success is knowing that you did everything you could to accomplish something and learning from it. Anything that happened before you in control of your own life is out of your hands.
How it contributes to divisions amongst family members due to DF'ing, DA'ing & Shunning Rules.

it think it was paul who said in the bible that people are happier single than married.
do you share paul's point of view?
Depends on the person. I am the love being & am happier married type. However I have friends who are VERY happily single - they have very active social lives/careers and a large circle of friends and family that complete there life. I think both situations have there + and -'s. However I wouldn't want to go back to single for anything!
years ago, families were huge.
it wasn't rare to see families of 9 or 10 children.
today things are so different.
I think it is a personal decision. We hope to have 1 (or 2 max) as we want to make sure we can afford to provide them with a good life, help them with university, sports etc.

if you were to live eternally on earth, what little things of life would you never get tired of?.
My sweetie, Iced mochas, beautiful scenery and vacations/holidays
i always go to bed naked, even in the winter.
i eat at odd hours, whenever i'm hungry, and that happens fast.
breakfast at 6:30am, dinner at 10:15 am (i'm hungry) supper at 3:30 pm (still hungry).
My husband always laughs cuz when I eat candies (ie: smarties or skittles) I color code them and eat a group of one of every color. I was doing this in a training class once and noticed the instructor (and eventually the group at the table) were all watching me. I felt like such a dork.
as ex-dubs we are free to read whatever the hell we want to read.
in celebration of that fact (and to give me some ideas on what to read next .

Just finished reading some stories written about my husbands parents, grandparents etc who lived in the internment camps during the war. It really opened my eyes to why they are so family oriented and how much strength of character they have. Tough read though since I actually know the people and it is very emotional experiences.
Regularly I read anything by Patricia Cornwell, Tami Hoag, John Grisham, Kristin Hannah, Nora Roberts/J.D Robb.
like many of us, i have struggled with weight all of my adult life.
i came into this world weighing over 10 lbs, and it seems it has been a struggle for me almost ever since.
i lost 70 lbs about 7 years ago, and kept it off for 5 years, however i have put most of it back on.
Good work! I recently joined a gym and although my first month I only made it twice a week I am committing to 3x a week this month at the gym & then working out at home in between if I feel up to it. My goal is to lose about 20 -25 lbs. But I don't really want to "diet" since I love food. Plus I started going for trail rides on my mountain bike.
