I was a good person Before I became a JW. While I was a JW, I was taught to be less of a Person. Now that I'm out, I am a much better person.

Has being a JW made you a better person?
by lfcviking inok most of us here on this board (including me) have got our grumbles with the wt for various reasons but please consider this:.
if you came into the 'truth' from the world at whatever point on your life and and have since then left the 'truth', do you think that you are a better person now than before you joined?.

JWs are all Individuals. Not all agree with the Watchtower..

If They Weren't a Cult Before.....
by AllTimeJeff ini just wanted to officially change something on my viewpoint.
i have thought about this for a few days.
i used to think that while they were in some ways controlling, that jw's did not meet the criteria of a cult totally.

God help me - Just finished Crisis of Conscience
by Orgull ini don't know whether to laugh or cry.. a friend lent me coc yesterday and i stayed up most of the night reading it.
it took me 13 hours and i skipped the meeting today to keep reading, i couldn't bear to put it down.. i am shocked but not surprised at how closely ray's thinking mirrors my own in some ways.
the part that hit me hardest was.... "conviction, it has no meaning or validity unless it is individual, personal.

I admire your strength and conviction to read this book. I didn't read it until I was already out 10 years. And that was only after my daughter Miranda threw it in my lap. I already believed the WT didn't have the so called "Truth" but the book made a major impact on me.

The most irritating dub(s) you had to put up with?
by greendawn infor me it was a ministerial servant a real boor who always told me off and humiliated me for all sorts of silly reasons whenever i went to the fs group that he headed.
i soon stopped going there.
he even gave talks that were incredibly boring and brain duling and not surprisingly i recently heard that in his mid fourties he abandoned his aging wife who was of a similar age and run away with a woman in her early twenties that is half his age.

Interestingly one of the Most Irritating JW for me was an Elder's Wife. Now she and her husband are both out and Free. We're great friends.

Whoopi Goldberg on The VIew
by changeling inshe actually came out in defense of michael vick.
she said in some parts of the south dog fights are common so we must understand where he's comming from.. well, in some parts of the south people discriminate against african americans.
are we supposed to excuse them, understand them?

Let's forget about the "Cultural" Thing. It is Against the Law. I suppose it's Cultural to Break the Law?

I don't think Whoopie should apologize. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. If that's how she feels, then she's part of the Dog Fighting Problem.

I didn't see the View this Morning but I wish I had. I had respect for Whoopie; Now I don't think so. Michael Vick got exactly what he deserved.

If Your Spouse Told The Elders On U, Is That a Marital or Religious Problem
by minimus inif a faithful devout jw saw her husband on a board like this or reading "apostate" literature, if she was so disturbed by her husband's actions and the husband justified himself, would you think that if she told the elders because she was truly concerned that her mate was going to leave "the truth" and ultimately not make it into the "new system", --------that this was simply a marital issue-----not a religious one?.
your opinions please..

If you can't trust your Spouse who should be your best friend, the the marriage is doomed.

Many of us still have family members in the Borg. These fellows could be our Fathers, Sons, Brothers.
