Oh Aaron....I'm so sorry to hear this. Your brother, the one you grew up with. this is so shocking; I feel the tears welling up inside me.

My Brother Died in a Car Wreck Last Night
by WLG ini just found out about an hour ago.
he wasn't even old enough to drink yet.. to make it even sh*ttier, he had called me a few weeks ago and asked if he could come out here with me but i couldn't do it at the time.
so of course the first thing that comes to mind is if i had done something different it wouldn't have happened.. he was going through the sh*t as i call it, when witnesses go off the deep end and get into everything in the world to stop hurting and they don't even know what is wrong.

We have the truth
by MutualRespectPlease ini will be respectful.
but in reading past posts it seems we are allowed to speak frankly?
i think jehovah's witnesses have the truth.

Sounds to me like you're still Searching; sincere people do this.
When I have doubts about anything, I tell myself over and over what is Good about the situation and ignore the Negatives.

I hate Walmart!
by Elsewhere ini rarely ever set foot in the place and will go out of my way to avoid shopping there.
tonight i made the mistake of giving walmart the benefit of the doubt and walked in the door.. they didn't have the main item i was looking for, but they did have one other small item.
i headed to the front to check out only to find they had only a few check-outs open and all of the lines were far too long.

Are JWDers helpful to each other?
by AuldSoul ini used to think that this place was a good spot to recommend for exiting jws.
in some wasy, it still is.
but if they want to test the waters of doctrinal evaluation i believe it is nearly impossible.

This forum is the one that helped me begin to Really Heal a few years ago. The most important lesson I've learned in Life is to Live and Let Live. I believe we are all on our own path and have to muddle through. The support system here is outstanding.

3 months, not even a phone call about my late mother from the Dubs.....
by WingCommander inso......it has been 3 months since my mother passed away and not one, not one witness has called, stopped by, or even sent a card to me!
it hit me today.
i mean, i must have gotten like 50 sympathy cards in the mail from her worldly relatives and co-workers, as well as numerous phone calls, but not one witness has done anything!

I'm so glad now I send sympathy cards to JWs who have lost family members. Of couse, I never hear back from the recipients but I gives me comfort knowing someone cares.

Are Ex-JWs smarter than the average bear?
by reneeisorym ini've noticed that most of us may not have a college education but most of you are extremely intelligent people.. do you think that ex-jws are smarter than the average bear?.

From my observations, I think most ex-JWs are deep thinkers. They are Brave.

If this were my daughter, it would have been addressed immediately. The Wrath of Sister Stone (Me) would have been upon the Heads of the Elders in that Congregation. If nothing were done, I would have gone to the authorities.
