Is that the one where Black Beard is shown sitting down having a Bible study, ruffled shirt, beard and all? In the next frame he is shown sans beard, sword and is giving his life experience. Is that the one?

Does anyone remember the article which mentioned that many non-jws would survive armageddon?
by cultBgone ini seem to think it was a november wt issue but can't remember precisely, but it was probably printed within the last three years.
after being told for years and years that everyone not a jw would be destroyed, this was amazing to see in print!
yet when i pointed it out to others, they just shrugged it off and left me wondering what i was missing.... does this ring a bell with anyone?.

How did you find the truth about the truth (TTATT)
by Maat13 ini am sure there has been a post about this subject, however being a recent addition to the network i don't know how to do a search.
and i'm sure new folks have joined since then.
i am really curious of how others came to know ttatt.. for me is was a real bad experience with one elder after another.

Attn faders/lurkers re donations
by Skinnedsheep inwhen you get your anonymous survey pledge an exorbitant amount.
the elders will make the resolution based on the fake pledge and it will create conflict between the branch and the cong....when the donations don't come in the branch be like "pay the man".
the local body will have to have several local needs parts which will highlight the branches focus on money.

@Obliette
Yes, the WT filed an "amicus curiare" or "friend of the court" on that one didn't they. So much for being no part of the world when you are Swaggart's bed-fellow, well only in a legal sense.

I came home yesterday...
by sooner7nc in...from a school nurse clinical day in my nursing program and asked my wife "how was your day?".
she replies "good, i'm tired though because i was cleaning out the spare room and threw away a bunch of books.".
my ears perked up because she has a habit of trying to decide whether or not i 'need' what i have or should throw it away so i asked "which books?

Is this new donation arrangement for real?
by nugget injust read a post on jwsurvey about the new donation arrangement.
congregations are to pledge a monthly amount to be sent to the society to fund the building of assembly halls and kingdom halls.
congregations who already have a loan from the society will no longer have to pay back the loan but the amount pledged should not be less than the current monthly repayments to the society.

Nugget,
I agree, this is quite disturbing. If this new arrangement is in fact put in effect, the congos will be indefinetely on the hook for the pledged amount in lieu
of their monthly mortgage payment. One can just imagine that they have studied the possibility of some congos "defaulting" on their pledges, so I am
sure that they have contingencies. It is my understanding that remodels are all mandated by the RBCs and more so now that they have a centralized "RBC" arrangement. Sounds like Communism to me.
