Discussion with some elders
by GoUnion inhello everyone just wanted to relate a situation that occurred a few days ago.
so i have quit going to meetings for a few months now based on some issues i have with the explanations of current doctrines.
my wife is none too happy with this but over the last few months we have had some date nights and have tentitively agreed to disagree.

Been down that road with similar heartfelt concern shown by the elders. They will not lower the boom unless they find out that you shared your feelings with anyone including your wife. As it stands, they will view you as spiritually weak and will treat you and your family with caution (no more dinner invites from spiritually strong ones). You will likely lose any "privileges" you may have like parking lot duty, microphone roving, foyer greeter, etc. In other words, you are now "persona non grata".

Not to mention the CO visits where the meeting schedules are turned on their head. Three congos in one hall means six CO visits a year-that's crazy.

They are not going to use the Hotel to house retired DOs. They will be assigned to live out their days in the congregations throughout the US. Let the local yokels bury their dead.

Need advice for asking a girl out
by DuvanMuvan inwell long story short, i've been meaning to ask this girl at school out for a while but i can never do it because her friends are always there in the way and i would prefer to ask her in person.
we've liked each other for a while (i was oblivious until about a month or two ago) and i'm also i bit worried she'll get tired of waiting.. i was just wondering if anyone had any advice or something that they could give me.

don't beat around the bush asking her out to ask her out. Ask her to go walk in the park and smell the flowers and the rest will take care of itself.

Dude, just follow On the Way Out's advice. Be cool and confident just not cocky, you'll be alright. Even if you get shot down, her and her giggly BFFs can never claim you didn't have the cajones to go in there.

Does Brother Baltasar Perla partake of the emblems? Well, he had better start. He's the closest thing the Spanish hermanos have to a GB member.

Will the GB be alive at armageddon(tm)?
by punkofnice inok. i don't believe that the watchtower(r) armageddon(tm) is anything but fantasy.. i do recall speculation about how the 'anointed(tm)' might all be dead before the big 'a' or that some will survive through it and help the r&f.
i heard brothers speculating that after the big 'a' the 'anointed(tm)' would be spirited away to heaven.. i wonder what they think will happen to the gb on, before or after the big 'a' now?.

wallsofjericho: I believe you are referring to the "Nethinim" (Given Ones) aka "Givies". But who really cares?

That would explain why our current DO telling was telling a group during the CA lunchbreak that he was being assigned to a congregation. They, of course will receive a "modest monthly stipend" as special pioneers, but no more Buick LaCrosse?
