I don't recall saying that I believe everything the society teaches to be true. If I did I would be lying to myself. I agree with you that is is a man-made organization with man-made rules, but how you interpret those rules to be correct or incorrect is up to the individual themselves. Some teachings and ideas I still believe to be true. Does that make me any less of a person that I have not abandoned all wts teachings? I don't think so.

I have never been given that privledge. I guess you can call me selfish and heartless. I could care less about those still in. I left because I wasn't feeling it (religion) anymore. Its up to everyone including my mother to see this religion for what it isn't and leave if they want to.

You need to be free of " I still think, what if they are right, sometimes "

Hell I ask myself that question at times, and I have been out for four years and have no intention on going back. It's not wrong to still wonder.

I still don't understand the big deal about birthdays and xmas, so I choose not to observe them. Their orgins still don't make sense to me. Its still very important for me to try to display the nine fruitages of the spirit in my life.

How old were you when you got Baptised?
by El Kabong ini was 13 at the time.
i wanted to get baptised before the end came in 1975. .
back then, 13 was borderline young for baptism, but from what i've been reading, some are now getting baptised as young as 9 or 10. .

15. Which in my mind was way too young to really comprehend what I was doing. Theres nothing quite like a little mind control at that age.

What Excuses Did You Make For Being A Lousy JW?
by minimus inwhen the elders or other "mature ones" tried to assist you, they would ask questions like, "what's wrong?
why weren't you at the meeting?
or service?.......what good excuses did you give, when asked these types of questions?

Now other witnesses asked why I'm not attending a few time. One of my answers was Are you sure you want to know? My reasons may stumble you. No one ever asked me my reasons after that
LB nice one!

Theocratic School Talks, they were the worst ! hated doing them, did you ?
by run dont walk inremember back to the days you were in the theocratic school and had to give talks, were they the worst or what, i remember they were suppose to run about 6-8 minutes, i had some short as 3. the talks were pointless, you would just throw some mumble jumble together and go up and talk, first the introduction (and don't forget your gestures), then read the weekly scripture and then the conclusion, all your words of wisdom.
i would rank this second on the worst list next to field service (still # 1).. how about you, did you enjoy doing them ?
did you even prepare for them ?

I didn't mind giving talks but it was impossible to work on every speech counsel point in one session. Even if you did your best it was never good enough, you would always have something else to work on. Sometimes I would be working on the same point for two talks. I hated that. Let me stop griping. It did make me a better public speaker.
