  do you feel compelled to give advice to your friends if you think they are making bad choices?

  if it's not threatening to your friend in a physical way - do you live & let live - even if their choices have the potential to hurt them emotionally at a future time?

  what is the "right thing to do in these situations"?

  The JWs around me are always "should'ing" all over each other and everyone they meet.

  Unless someone is doing something particularly life threatening or unless they specifically ask for it, I tend to keep my opinions to myself.

  as usual, i got on the subject of the society.

  my mother told me that she talked to a friend of hers about the un thing, and her friend knew about it.

  Getting them to verify themselves is half the battle. Usually when I introduce this information to JW, it's outright denials all around and hearty pats on the back for being so strong and resisting apostate literature.

  Even if I had that pic there would be no way I would post it. My mom...who warned me over and over was there as a show of support because I'd convinced her how important that day was to me.

  The Biggest Scandal In Your Congregation

  i attended a notorious congregation as a child, the infamous winter gardens congregation!

  my cousin and his best friend, both named joe, were elders, my cousin was the po and the other joe was a total loser suck up who wanted to be just like my cousin, joe.

  what was even funnier, as i get off point a bit, is that "suck up" joe's wife, cathy, did everything she could do to get her pudgy lil self to dress, look, walk, and talk like my cousin joe's wife, clementine.

  there was one elder who had to step down because his unmarried teenaged daughter got preggers

  You mean....there are elders out there who actually face the music when this happens?

  Most of the one's I'm acquainted with promptly kicked their daughters to the curb before the test results dried out to protect their position in the congregation.

  I gave him the directions he wanted. That was 1993. I have never heard from him since.

  The flip side of that is that they may be taking yet another page from their minions in WT-land; that is, since you're worldly soon to be destroyed soon....very soon...anyway, why not take any advantage they can from you if it'll benefit and help them stay loyal to the organization.

  Who wants to knowingly be used this way?

  Exactly......

  Now that she's played the shunning game to her detriment, nnnoooowwwww she wants to come to you in her time of need when it's gonna hit her financially. Funny is it how JWs will always have a change of heart toward an apostate relative when they need them for financial gain.

  Try to guage what her plans are as to how she'll treat you once this crisis is over, and if it's not to your liking, tell her to not run ahead of the organization and to "wait on Jehovah"!!!

  Hidding WT's Alaskan Plane?

  The more accurate description of that document is "pilots certificate".

  I have one though I haven't flown in a few years. It's a very expensive interest I intend to get back to very soon.

  Had to listen to my wife spout out this nonsense all day today when my JW relatives came for a visit.

  Yeah, the WT is really throwing down the gauntlet against those who publicly oppose them and are going all out in warning those enslaved to them to stay away from apostates.

  Have you watched "Pirates of the Carribean" yet?

  awesome movie...i am not that much of a johnny depp fan but he was absolutely brilliant in this...but his wonderful acting is not required to carry the whole movie.

  it is extremely entertaining, and the special effects are excellent.. i was just wondering if anyone else had a chance to see it?

  i hardly go to the theater any more (too many kids!!!

  Wait a minute. What are Jehovah's Witnesses doing seeing "Pirates of the Caribbean"?

  Well...I was over a relatives house who sits on the fence somewhat because he's a third generation dubber and is taking care not to appear to apostate. Another relative whose been studying for umpteenth bazillion years brought the DVD over, I put in on and began watching it.

  Because of my total and complete ignoring of their murmuring and dirty looks and considerable interest I was showing in watching the movie, I guess they were loath in all their self righteousness to say anything out loud but the looks on their faces during some of the more "inviting satan into your home" scenes were worth more than anything that can be bought with a mastercard
