No, I don't...all of my shoes are made from synthetic products, and nothing else I own, or wear is made from animal skin, or fur. I don't eat meat, or any animal by-product(milk, eggs, cheese, etc.)
Most of my friends(my girlfriend included), are anti-peta. It is a personal choice.

I'm just trying to say that a lot ot people seem to think that humans have more value than other living creatures. I don't think we do. I think we are all created equally, and only human arrogance puts us above, lets say, frogs(or dogs for that matter). If this kid was shooting a dog, just to see what the dog would do, people would feel completely different, I think.
I just don't understand why we think the smaller the creatue, the less value its life has.

That is rather arrogant, don't you think? Humans are NOT superior to any other living creature. A frog's life is just as important as your own. To demean that shows blatant disrespect to mother nature and ALL creatures.

seems like there are differnet tier's of kindgom halls.
the old hall i went too was orginally supposed to be large house, iirc.
when our congregation outgrew it, it was sold to a company next door that build coffins and caskets.
The hall I went to as a kid was an old stone building...don't know if it was originally supposed to be a kh or not. I do remember it had orange carpeting...yech.
They sold it in '95, or somewhere in there. It is a podiatrist office now. Now there is just a plain, old jw quicky.

We have a dark green '96 Cavalier. It's cute, and quiet, and has never needed any work. It is also a stick, so I've never actually driven the thing...

during my childhood growing up jw while in grammar school saluting the flag or reciting the pledge of allegiance was practice every morning in our classrooms.
before the begining of every school year my mother would have a talk with my new teachers about our religious beliefs and practices.
i detested this i wanted to recite the pledge just like my classmates and sing the star spangled banner outloud.
oh *shudder*
I remember that blue brochure. My mother, too, brought that in at the beginning of every school year. As I got older(3rd grade on), I had to bring it in, and explain what I believed. It really wasn't so bad, not saying the pledge, except when we had a substitute teacher. I was sent down to the principal's office more than once by a sub, who thought I was just being disobedient.
I agree w/ Aztec and Realist. I still don't sing the national anthem, and I never will. People follow blindly with nationlism too. Its scary.

last week i received a copy of entertainment magazine in the mail.
it had a subscription label with my husband's name and our address.
hmmm, i have no interest and didn't subscribe so i ask steve and he says no......... a couple days later i get a card that reads:.
We just went to Sam Goody on Sunday...they said they were offering those 8 free issues of Entertainment Weekly, if we wanted it. We had to fill out a small form with name and addy, though.

In that study you posted, it was a consensual, albeit illegal, relationship. The girl was scared, and needed help. It happens every day. When I was in high school, one of my best friends had an abortion after being impregnated by a 27 yr. old. We were 15 years old. She doesn't regret it, 6 years later.
Women are finally able to go to a clean, safe, clinical surrounding to have an abortion. If abortion is made illegal, it will still happen just as often. It will just be unsanitary, unsafe, and potentially deadly. If you've never seen the first "If These Walls Could Talk" movie about abortion, go rent it.
Planned Parenthood also does much more than just abortion. They provide contraceptives to women who could otherwise not afford it. They have clinics in poorer countries to provide free pre-natal care, and sex education to women and girls who do not otherwise have access. Currently, they are working to get contraceptives covered on health insurance.
So, yes, I am still a huge supporter of Planned Parenthood.
