Also, diff. personality styles gravitate towards abstract thinking patterns compared to the more traditional concrete thinking. This all has an effect on how you perceive reality and your place in it. Thus, a concrete thinker approach the spirit world with scepticism since it can't be measured and explained logically. But an abstract thinker does not need logic to believe in something that is absent from view. thus, the absence of "PROOF" of a spiritual world does not necessarily negate it's existence. But it's all just theory in the eyes of a rationalist. Fortunately, Faith has a way of filling in the gaps for a small sector of the population. "Not everything can be measured with a six inch ruler" At least not with me

Ouija Boards
by StinkyPantz inwell, i was talking on the phone to my best friend and we started talking about aliens, spirits, etc.
and eventually we got around to discussing the ouija board.
since i was raised a jw and have only been out a year, the ouija board was of course forbidden and even a little scary.

So this life is all there is???? Simplistic spirit world??? ....I guess it's easier to believe that this material life is all there is. This is especially true if you are removed or leave an ORG. that tells you the exact opposite. Easier on the conscience too I would presume!

Caus' if there ain't a god then there's certainly no devil either.....Go ahead Plm, play all you want Say hello to all those "nice" Elementals that will soon park themselves on your shoulders just waiting to feed off of all those wonderful negative emotions you'll soon develop after the fact! What Are You All Doing Now?
by Tish ini am at a crossroads in my life, and wanted your opinions:.
i have been d/f for 18 months, i have learnt enough to know jws are completely misguided, but my sis has also been d/a for questioning things, she has been doing the alpha course and is getting baptised at a baptist church next weekend, which i am very pleased for her to be doing if she feels it's right.
i am in a quandry as i am very sceptical about going to another religion, i know many i have spoken to say, it isn't joining a religion but just associating with other christians.

Superman's quote 'bout JW's

"there are religious groups -- the jehovah's witness, i believe -- who think it's a sin to have a blood transfusion.
well, what if the president for some reason decided to listen to them, instead of to the catholics, which is the group he really listens to in making his decisions about embryonic stem cell research?

and,"And I think it's sadder when people make major life decisions based on fairy tales".

So XANDER, from what you wrote in your post here, aren't you also a bit SELF-RIGHTEOUS and IGNORANT yourself? I'm sure you don't claim to talk to God, but YOU now sound self-righteous and also ARROGANT! But I guess that's okay since you've grown past us primitive, lowly God worshippers....Puh-leese!!! -

Well, were on opposite sides of that fence then....I'll take my chances....As I'm sure you have with the choice that you have made. That's what it's all about, right?
Oh and by the way, I do work those two days that most people get off.

Seriously, though. Have you considered chucking the whole damn book out? I mean, it is obvious that most of what is contained in it is not literal history, nor accurate. Fanciful stories, at best, and that's not the kind of thing to base life decisions on.

??????????????????????????????????????Tish,
I suggest you RESEARCH all available resources on the Bible, God and any religion you ultimately decide on attending. Don't throw away a Belief in God that may or may not be true on second hand information. It should be a well informed CHOICE based on your own personal conclusions. If your still a believer in God, these choices may determine your eventual relationship with him. -
