Very good point Ozzie (don't you mean Aussie? - or are you an Ozzie Osbourne fan haha). I agree with you on this. It's more evidence that the Kingdom wasn't born in 1914 at all and another lack of insight re prophecy on the part of the WTS.

The Borg's fear of demons (Worship Bk, chap 18)
by ozziepost inone characteristic of dubs is a preoccupation and fear of the demons.
their literature contains descriptions of a contest between the creator god and satan, such as found in their recently publication worship the only true god.

Blondie can you please be consistent with the colouring of your comments. It's a mess and difficult to tell the WTS from your little inserts. Please keep all YOUR comments in black like you say you will....otherwise keep up the good work
Jourles..is that really you in the photo...man you look like something from Revenge of the Nerds.

Dodgy comment in WT 99 5/1
by Noumenon infor any readers of e-watchman's articles, especially his article on 'we have concluded a covenant with death', please note this comment from this 1999 watchtower article:.
"23 we must be certain that our refuge continues to be jehovah and his mountainlike organization.
(2 samuel 22:2, 3; psalm 18:2; daniel 2:35, 44) that is where we will find protection!

For any readers of e-watchman's articles, especially his article on 'We have concluded a Covenant with Death', please note this comment from this 1999 Watchtower article:
"23 We must be certain that our refuge continues to be Jehovah and his mountainlike organization. (2 Samuel 22:2, 3; Psalm 18:2; Daniel 2:35, 44) That is where we will find protection! We will not imitate the masses of mankind who will flee to "the caves" and hide "in the rock-masses of the mountains"—human organizations and institutions that may remain for a very short while after Babylon the Great is desolated. (Revelation 6:15;
Notice how they say 'his mountainlike organisation' and then quote from Daniel 2:35,44. They are almost saying that the rock that crushes all the world powers in that scripture is in fact God's earthly organisation! Equating the imperfect human earthly organisation with God's actual heavenly Kingdom like this is just not on. A blatant example of idolising the Organisation ahead of Christ and his Kingdom

50 years from now ! What will the Watchtower say about the 1990's 2000's ?
by run dont walk inif russell , rutherford and even knorr's work is considered misinterpeted, or overzealous, or they didn't have a complete understanding of the scriptures (even though they were of the annoited class).
can or will the same be said 50 years from now about today's publications.. this really intrigues me, i love reading the history of the watchtower and looking back at some of the beliefs and predictions.
i really appreciate the 1975 stuff more today then ever.

I reckon they will drop 1914 if the end doesn't come by 2014, take it on the chin, and come up with some new vague nebulous chronological interpretation.
They've already got the generation thing covered with their new floating secular interpretation, making what Jesus meant an era or epoch rather than a scriptural generation.

I don't see that claiming to be directed by God and the Angels constitutes spiritism. Every religions claims to have some divine guidance of some sort or another. That doesn't constitute spiritism at all, and is just fishing for mud to throw at the Org by those hating it.
I do however agree that they are wrong to say that resurrected anointed ones (who I do not believe are resurrected to heaven yet) could be somehow conveying truths etc to members of the Organisation today. That is definitely off and bordering on spiritism.
Actually I think the truth about the condition of the dead is one of the greatest truths JW's have to share. The quotes put up on this thread from that website is ignoring the beautiful white sheet and focusing only on the tiny speck on it.

Jehovah's Witnesses withou Hope?
by admiral_palsey in-under the old covenant animal blood was shed for the forgiveness of sins.
heb 9:19,20 for when every commandment of the law had been declared by moses to all the people, he took the blood of calves and goats, with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people, saying, "this is the blood of the covenant which god commanded you.
heb 13:11 for the bodies of those animals whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest as a sacrifice for sin are burned outside the camp.

Mizpah, sorry, but the bible isn't clear at all that Christ would return visibly. There are a number of scriptures which conflict with this.
Saintsatan - so black and white is it. Just one little scripture where Jesus says YOU means I'm still dead in my sins. I think theres a little more to it than that. You are like the born againers who quote John 3:16 ad nauseum and say that proves all we need is faith in Jesus for salvation.

For those of you who wish to 'hear'
by kes152 inmay you all have peace!
when i was sent to speak to ones and they came back asking me why it is that we hear and they do not, i had taken it before my lord to ask him.
this is what he told me, their hearts are hard and they do not wish to hear what i tell them.

Wrong again. Any communication with God is a form of prayer, in fact any form of service or worship to him can broadly be described as a type of prayer. He even hears the silent prayer of our heart.

More SOONerism and NEARism by the Borg mouthpiece.
Count the number of times we have heard that the end is SOON and NEAR since the Watchtower started.
The carrot is well and truly hanging over the donkey still...

A little history on the Bible
by gumby init's always intresting to hear the answers you get from people about how and when the bible was formed.
many minds go only as far as believing it was simply a compilation of god ordained books that we have to this day.
below is just a small bit of information that many may not be familiar with.

The seductive trap of Higher Criticism is much like the theory of evolution. It allows one to be free of moral responsibility to God, or any organisation claiming to represent him. So the atheists and higher critics can feel safe and snug fornicating, adulterating, or doing whatever they want to indulge in, deciding for themselves what is right and wrong...the fundamental free will issue raised in the Garden of Eden. Satan's no fool and he will employ the highest intellects and minds to try to convince faithful ones that they have no basis for their faith at all. Higher Criticism in all it's gross manifestations is one of the foremost example of that.

1918 or 1919? Ahhh...what's 1 year between friends.
The whole point is that Christ never returned to inspect anything in 1918 or 1919. It's a ridiculous proposition, as e-watchman.com dismantles so well.
His coming to inspect the spiritual temple is still a future event....
