To get benefit from the Watchtower money, all you would have to do is open a bank, credit union or building society then the watchtower puts their money in at a low interest then you loan the money out at high interest. Who is to say that the governing body hasn't got such a bank owned by the 12 and that is what keeps them going, they are making a shitload and have power what more could they want?

Someone actually tried this one on me the other night at a club. He leant into my ear (the music was loud) and drunkenly said "I want to go down on you" my God, I spat out my drink. yuuuk This was out of the blue by the way, never seen him before. Then he stared at me like he expected me to be swept off my feet LMAO.

Well, this IS the question isn't it.
I believe there is definately a force that helps us if we call on it, because I have experienced that myself. Whether it is our own power of our mind or the power of Gods and spirit forces, I dont know, However if I think of it as god/dess it gives personality to the power and so the power can be more easily directed. I believe in a pantehon of god/goddesses. I believe Jehovah is one of these gods. I think he's an arsehole. I prefer Dianna myself and Pan. I also believe that THE Goddess is mother earth. she is benign and all encompassing and so we all have godlike power in us as we are a part of her and she of us. Jehovah has been doing his darndest to take over but this is ruining the mother and so we must return to her in order to save ourselves.
Anyone ever notice how the majority of women in the bible are portrayed in a bad light, as eveil seducers, harlots etc. even Babylon the great! Perhaps jehovah is jealous of the mother Goddess and thats why he did this, to encourage a patriarchal society.

Well, I've still got mine, but the more I read it and then read other works, the more I'm thinking 'chuck it'. Although it is becoming rather amusing.

Not to mention all the Bethel Farms and the new Halls built in the 80's when the "Increase" was coming and all new halls had to be built and money was leant to the congregations to buy bigger blocks and then they had to pay it back to the society but who holds the titles??? Not the congregation!
Billions in cash, billions in land, talk about mega national business. And whose bank is all this money in???? Who is lending this money out to make themselves more money????

recommend a book
by DanTheMan inany book that you like.. i am particularly interested in reading some good non-fiction.. crisis of conscience tops my recommendations, i think it is one of the best books i've ever read.
but you don't have to recommend apostate books.. currently i am enjoying dale carnegie's how to win friends and influence people.
i am enjoying it and trying to take the advice to heart - namely, don't be so negative!.

We Are The Other People
by Ravyn in16 then yahweh god gave the man this admonition, "you may eat indeed of all the trees in the garden.. 17 nevertheless of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you are not to eat, for on the day you eat of it you shall most surely die.
you will not die!.

WOW!
My husband and I were just talking the other day about Jehovah being a war like god and quite vindictive and jealous and forcefull. We came to the decision that he was just one god of many, and certainly not OUR god. We just don't feel comfortable with him. I think we already knew we were of 'The Others'. We have always felt comfortable with nudity, going topless on the beach and going to nudist beaches, walking naked around the house, we only cover up so as not to embarrass others. This makes a lot of sense. The bible certainly is not applicable to me or mine.

An epiphany, and prelude to other thoughts
by onacruse inwell, this is being a remarkable couple of weeks for me; one of those moments i'll remember for the rest of my life.
not to be melodramatic, but i think "epiphany" best describes what i'm experiencing.. a little history: i was born and raised a jw, bethel-bound at 8, baptized at 10. always a book-worm, liked to study math, science, and old wts publications (what a combo lol).
when i wasn't vacation pioneering (as it was called then), i spent my summers in my room, frequently reading for 16 hours at a stretch.

Craig, Love this thread however I need you to define 'think' 'language' and 'know' before I can further understand as I feel my definition may be different to yours, seeing as I am an animal behaviourist.
