I think thats a good idea Jo. I would just tell them that if you want to know anything about the truth you would rather study with your parents or go to the meeting than talk to them. Then you just dont. That way you keep the relationship between you and your parents and dont give the elders any power over you. Have fun!

My story is I am a faded JW for several years but have only realised the truth about the troof since coming on this board. My husband is faded too. Some of our family are still JWs so we are holding back from being too open with our new beliefs as we don't want to be DF/DA.
My Mum is still a dub and she has been so hurt by them so many times and yet still sees it as her fault, she believes she MUST have done something wrong, even though it was her 2nd husband who was the bad person who was in control of the elders by virtue of being the one in control of their contract work and so their lively hood.
My Dad was disfellowshipped years ago and I shunned him for many years, I am very ashamed of this and hope I can make it up to him as he is a very good person. Hi Dad, if you are reading I love you.
I have dogs, chooks, horses, goats and cats oh and a guinea pig for my two kids. I live in rural NSW in the Aussie bush, there are rainforests nearby. I might post a pic of my area in the 'where do you live' thread. I love to travel and would love to visit you all if I only had the cash.

The UN and armageddon

i spoke to my aunt the other day who has been out of the borg for about 20 years now.
she told me that she is really worried about world events and feels that this is it now, the un is going to crumble and then armageddon is going to come.

Well my Aunt has been out way longer and she says there is no hope of Armagedon coming and it is more likely that the planets will line up and a giant tidal wave will wipe out 90% of the earth.
Moral of the story?

J6OCR9 Mar 15, 2003 People need to develop emotional intelligence. I enjoy being alone. I can sit for hours and listen to people's conversation and not say a word. I can also be in a room of people and shut myself off. I guess I'm in my own little world, not lonely though.
Hey j60cr9 you and me could get on real good. We'd just sit down together and quietly watch the world. Interesting isn't it?
