I think the Society's "going beyond the things written" is a major issue with many.
The One-Towel rule at assemblies comes to mind.

.
why are so many people angry at the wt society, when it is the people that decide to remain in the organisation?

an interesting piece that illustrates the shared mythology between palestinian cults is the character balaam.
of course we know the story in numbers 22-24 where he is hailed as a prophet of great power who dispite his desires utters a blesssing on isreal.
the talking ass bit has gotten much attention as obvious storytelling.
Balaam it seems was an adaptable character that was adopted by the Jewish cult early in it's formation. Kind of like how the Paul Bunyon stories are found all over the U.S. and Canada with each state believing the character is uniquely theirs.
In the same context as Paul Bunyon, you could include Aunt Jemima and Mr. Clean.

here are some mind boggling questions.
and if you want you can make your own questions.. .
did the people in the bible go to the bathroom?
Sara Annie -> Allegedly the whole biblical mandate to eat only with your right (or was it left?) hand was because the other hand was reserved for the duty of wiping, and no one wanted your wipe-hand dipping into the communal bowl.
Now I can understand the custom we have read about of greeting a person and washing their feet when guests arrive.
I guess it's a much better altenative to shaking their hand.

i am in a situation ..... i want to buy a new home but my debt to income ratio does not allow me to purchase the home i want.
since i have great credit i am able to go stated income...the problem is that i will have to fib a little to get the loan amount i want.
my issue here is that i don't feel great about fibbingbut i want the loan amount.
I know quite a few people that have not given accurate information when applying for a mortgage.
It's really an issue with self-employed people that purposely want to minimize their earnings for tax purposes. When asked for copies of their tax returns, people often will be denied the loan based upon those facts. In one case, a friend told me that he and his wife were even "encouraged" by the lender to "fix" the number on the tax return and then submit that copy. There is typically little more done in way of investigations for people that have copies of tax returns and good credit.
I, however, agree with others here in that honesty is the best way to go to avoid problems in the future. I personally would think twice before submitting any legal documents that I know are incorrect. When in a situation like that, I can't help but think about the biblical account of David and Bathsheba. I visualize her in her bathing area, massaging her skin with the finest soaps and oils. David, meanwhile, observing her and desiring her more and more. Finally, they end up passionately making heated love in each others arms, the smell of their bodies and fragrant oils filling the air.
The one about the virgins and the lamp oil is a good one too.
Hope this helps.

that question is raised on page 709 in the "proclaimers" book.
notice the answer the book gives.
"because they believe and accept what the bible says as to the identifying marks of true worshipers.
We know that we are the true religion because we were the first to link the blowing of horns with Cedar Point, Ohio.
To the best of my knowledge, no other group has made the connection yet.

Yes, that is the case. That is also one of the reasons why Christians in the first century were counciled: "don't let the left hand know what your right hand is doing."
