  I never quite understood that either.

  It especially bothers me when we are told that we "should be happy" ... or "we are happy because of" this or that.

  I personally see relatively few that I would consider happy. Certainly no more than people in general.

  Happiness is not something that you should have to tell a person to do or be. It should come from within oneself, not simply a reaction to something written.

  in a way im glad the wts has hinted that mobile phones are expensive, time wasting, immoral devices.

  anything to reduce the number of people shouting into plastic blocks on public transport gets my vote.

  however they go as far as to assume that young people who have one will use it to talk to members of the opposite sex!

  Our local paper a couple of months ago had a story about the police being called to a disturbance at a house and when they got there they found a woman with ALL her teeth pulled out by her boyfriend.

  She didn't press charges though because they had both been so high on drugs. She'd heard voices telling her the teeth were possessed and got her boyfriend to pull them out.

  Maybe the voice was telling them to use their "guns" ... but being high on drugs they heard "gums" instead.

  NIGHTMARES

  does anyone have these recurring, bad nightmares?

  i seem to get this one in the early summer, around the district assembly time each year.

  it starts with me getting up to go to the restroom during the session.

  Just a question,

  Does anyone have these recurring, bad nightmares?

  I seem to get this one in the early summer, around the District Assembly time each year.

  It starts with me getting up to go to the restroom during the session. I get up from my seat and try to find the nearest one. I walk and walk. It seems like I am walking forever. Every mens room that I come to has a cardboard sign over it saying "Women" and a long line waiting to get in.

  I feel like I am ready to explode when I finally find one at the other end of the stadium.

  After washing my hands, I accidently take two towels instead of one and everyone else in the bathroom turns and begins to come closer to me holding signs "ONE TOWEL ONLY" and shaking their heads saying, "Only One, Brother, Only One" as I back into the corner.

  Feeling trapped, I find an opening and make a dash out of the bathroom into the corridor.

  As soon as I get out, dozens of people begin encircling me holding up "PLEASE BE SEATED" signs.

  I break past everyone and finally find the stairway to get back to my seat.

  I get back to my seat but someome is sitting in it. I tap him on the shoulder. He turns and hands me what looks like a microphone. The speaker suddenly stops, the audience completely quiet, and he asks me for my comment. Everyone in the entire stadium turns and looks at me. I begin to mumble a few works when people begin waving "QUIET" signs in my face.

  I drop the microphone and go running back to the hallway. I try to find an exit but everything is blocked with people sitting with contribution boxes at their sides.

  I frantically begin opening doors to find an exit but instead every room has 3 elders sitting around a table, smiling, and asking me to just sit down and talk a few minutes.

  I go running down the hallway when I trip and fall. Lying on my back, people are waving signs in my face to "PLEASE KEEP MOVING."

  I start yelling "No! No!"

  About this time my wife kicks me, complaining I ate dinner too late, and tells me to roll over and go back to sleep.

  As a loyal JW, what made you to start doubting the Watchtower ???

  i'm sure all of us were loyal at one time to the watchtower, believing in all of it.

  (some of us probaly hated it from day one as well but, ).

  what were some of the first things that happened or were said, that made you to start doubting it and beginning the loss of your loyalty to the organization ??????.

  Harry Potter Versus The Watchtower.

  does anybody have any wbts literature references that criticize, condemn or warn against harry potter books and films?.

  you see, my wife and family (jw) "love" harry potter, and so it would be great to be able to show them how absurd the watchtower society is for condemning harry potter, if indeed it does.

  i am assuming the wbts would disapprove of such demonic witchcraft and the like that is contained in the harry potter publications!.

  I do recall the movie Saturday Night Fever was mentioned specifically in the WT or Awake 2 or 3 years after the movie was released.
