i was thinking back about some of the more memorable dramas at the district assemblies.
i think my favorite was the one about lot and his wife ... the one where she looked back at the city and turned to a pillar of salt.
i also liked the one some time back about the wicked witch of the east and wicked witch of the west ... especially the part where the building fell on the wicked witch of the east because she was unfaithful ... and i liked the way it ended when the entire family including her uncle and next door neighbor were able to pioneer together.

i can understand the confusion.
they are both from the 13th century or before they both refer to a place they are both "in" a place they both can be "to" a place they are similar in pronunciation
Elsewhere was Catholic, often referred to as St. Elsewhere.
I believe Somewhere was Protestant.

some here pioneered as "vacation", "temporary", "auxillary", "regular" or even "special" roles.
nearly everyone was expected to pioneer, if you were to stay in the good graces of the congregation.
I pioneered for a year.
I did learn how to master the "Pioneer Walk" from an older pioneer that I often worked with.
For those here who have never been a JW, the Pioneer Walk is similar to Michael Jackson's Moon Walk. You appear to be moving forward but really remain in one place. It allow you to be assigned to a block with 6 or 7 houses, find no one at home, and yet spend all morning doing it.

with the recent tragedy, i have been reminded of something that i think is getting out of control.
that is the news overkill of subjects.
i do not want to sound heartless, but i did not sit and watch the news for hours when i heard the columbia burned up.
I get so sick of the coverage too ... it's like every station covering the same thing.
I think tonight on the Food Channel, Emeril LaGasse will be doing a special tailgate party to feed the rescue personnel.

just before i retire to bed my mind starts reflecting back over things i done heard that made a profound impact on my mental faculties (i guess i still have them).
anyway having worked the night shift i'm about to fall into a coma so you can imagine my minds on over-ride.

i don't miss being spoken to like i was someones best friend when i know they wouldn't pee on me if i was on fire.. i don't miss always standing on my own and having no one come and talk to me.. i don't miss having people talk around me about the great time they had at the latest sport/barbecue/dinner get-together which i wasn't invited to because i'm not spiritual enough.. i don't miss not having friends in the truth or out of the truth because i shouldn't mix with wordly people.. i don't miss being so bored for all those hours a week.. i don't miss all the false smiles people give me when i look at them at the hall and the way they look away when i walk past them at the shopping center.. .................. anyone got anymore?
Having to sit through a service meeting in which two thirds of the seats are empty, half of the rest are sleeping, and someone is giving a 20 minute part with information that could be covered in 2 minutes by a third grader.
Why not: "I'll keep my car clean, I'll keep my body clean, I won't be jumping in bed with my fellow sisters (or brothers) and I will keep my thoughts pure."
