Is there ANYTHING at all you think the borg was right about?
by BLISSISIGNORANCE ini'm not suggesting that the borg is right in itself.
but can you think of anything the borg taught that was actually beneficial and good?
just as an example: i use to be a smoker but when i started to study i gave up my 30 a day habit because i was told it was wrong.

Aztec....I agree with you there....
I don't think I would have been a racist even if I wouldn't have been a witness, but it did show me that we are equal as humans. Too much of that racism shit going on today, IMO, and probably the reason for so much chaos and hate. We all have one brain, and are made pretty much the same except for skin color. No one can claim to be better or superior.
I've been out for 20 years, and from what I read the witnesses seem to have changed quite a bit. At the time, they did support a moral lifestyle and an allegiance to god. Nothing wrong with that.
The problem is always at the top. Men who are afraid to admit they are wrong cause they would lose power and authority. Today, it is too late for apologies or to make amends, and as time goes by, they are falling further away from what should be a christ like attitude.
Haughtiness before the fall? I hope so, cause the ones at the bottom really need a breath of fresh air and be released from the yoke of fake christianity.

WTS says "There will be no more tradesmen after Armageddon"!
by ozziepost inwe've probably all had bad experiences with defective building or repair jobs, but our reactions would never have reached the limit to which the borg has gone.
in one of the wts' study books, the r&f are told:.
"with just as much zeal as ever for the house of god's worship, the heavenly high priest jesus christ will see to it that the closing words of zechariah's prophecy are fulfilled: "and there will no more prove to be a canaanite [or, tradesman] in the house of jehovah of armies in that day"- zechariah 14:21. the designation canaanite was synonymous with "tradesman".

The designation Canaanite was synonymous with "tradesman". Such persons, who seek to make selfish, commercial profit out of the most sacred thing on earth.....................And there will be none such........
Were they talking about themselves? Maybe paradise will be a better place after all.

by William Penwell inperle cites errors in iraq, urges power transfer
paris (reuters) - richard perle, a leading pentagon (news - web sites) adviser and architect of the u.s. war to topple saddam hussein (news - web sites), said the united states had made mistakes in iraq (news - web sites) and that power should be handed over to the iraqis as fast as possible.
in an interview with the le figaro daily newspaper to be published thursday, perle defended the u.s.-led war in iraq and restated his belief that france had been wrong to lead international opposition to the conflict.

Yeru...you're so predictable, and I don't intend this as a personal attack on you, cause I realize you're just a regular Joe just as I am, but man, your bunch reminds me of Jehovah's witnesses. For some reason you all have the same answer, all at the same time, and believe the ones who tell you what to give for an answer as gospel truth.
You do have a right to believe you are making progress, whatever that means. The fact remains, that here you are trying to whip a country into submission, will spend billions in the process, for something that wasn't even necessary.
All of a sudden you realize that terrorists are attacking you there rather than here, and it makes for a good defence for why you are in Iraq. I knew they'd come up with that line a few weeks ago. I should start a 1-900 psychic line on what will be the next quote.
Many times I've heard comments about the US being a great country, and it is a great place, and that many have fought for the freedoms we enjoy, people who are old today. Rather than throw your money at the Iraqis why don't you guys alleviate the struggle these older people are going through by throwing the money at lowering their prescription costs so they can enjoy a peaceful retirement. That is if you really respect what they did for your freedom and your country. These older US citizens are paying the highest prices in the world for their medications, stripping them of their life savings. And you want to give the Iraqis a better life?
What about the respect for your workforce in the US. For the past decade and a half you have told younger people to enter the technology field, and now you allow corporations to move these decent paying jobs to other countries where labor is cheaper, leaving younger people to work at McD, at minimum wage.
I could go on all day on how the regular US citizen is being scammed by corporations selling worthless products and services, allowed to be lied to and keep ripping us off, and the spending in Iraq is another example of this worthless expenditure, that you will end up paying for just so they can make a buck.
You can believe them blindly if you wish, and you can call yourself patriotic, but I believe I'm more patriotic than you cause I would definitely prefer the money being spent to help the poor in the US than to see it spent on Iraqis, who obviously won't allow you to run their country and won't even appreciate it in the end.
And I won't even comment on the oil thing.
And what about the US' electrical infrastucture? Just another example of capitalists sucking every penny out of a system, take the money, file bankrupcy, and leave you with the bill.
And if I dare say something about it I'm called unpatriotic. Anyone who allows this corporate stripping of americans, keeps his mouth shut and doesn't fight for it to end is in my opinion the one who is unpatriotic. And when the capitalists are done exploiting us guys, they'll just move on leaving us with nothing. Not even your freedom, cause they won't allow anyone to try and stop them, that's what the patriot act is all about. Right now it's disguised under the fight of terrorism, but believe me, when people realize they are being taken in, they won't be able to fight to protect what they have, they'll be viewed as terrorists. Mark my words.
And all this time we are to assume they care for us and want our prosperity. I see right through them and won't allow myself to be that gullible.

Book on Guerilla Warfare
by Satanus ini renamed this plummeting thread to a better title (imo).
vietnam primer is a book full of experience that was gained by soldiers fighting in vietnam.
while that was a jungle war, and the present one is mainly urban, it may still contain some info useful to an army facing gorilla tactics.

I hear ya, heathen.......
When the last one came out, I rented all the older ones, watched them all in sequence, then went to see the last one at the theatre. I agree with you, and I think I'll say the same for many contemporary movies, too much emphasis on the effects, and very little left for the imagination. Poor story lines.

I guess the Iraqis will be eating a lot of camembert....LOL
So now that you've gotten as far as you have with the Iraqis, do you still think you had good reasons to go to war with them?
If the UN was useless, to which I agree, why do you even use them as an example of inadequacy in their search for weapons in comparison to the US' time to locate them?
The US has intelligence (that's what they tell us). If they knew for a fact that Saddam had weapons (WMD), and from Powell's comments to the UN, they knew, and apparently where. Well then what's taking so long? Shouldn't they with all the technology they have, monitored sites they knew the weapons were located at, before and during the war, account for all suspious trafic, where it went, and when time came to attack, they'd know where they are. They do have GPS technology don't they? Satellite imagery?
Rumfeld announced, just around the time Bush said the war was over, that we had just seen history being written. That they had fought the most efficient battle since the beginning of times.....And they couldn't keep track of the goals, which were WMD? Ouch, now that doesn't look too good. I'll give them an "F" for proper use of technology.
Or did they mean they had just beaten the Japanese at a fireworks contest. Cause it was the best fireworks show that I was ever given to see

Why can't the coalition admit to the fact that they know they won't succeed there. It has nothing to do with Saddam being alive or not (that's just another excuse in the long line of excuses the coalition has used for their unsuccesses), it has all to do with people not wanting capitalists to control their resources.
Interesting to see how the story (and reasons) changes continuously.
I think that ridding yourself of Saddam will have the adverse effect. You will see more people pissed off than you could ever imagine.
The UN doesn't have the Midas touch, hey, I'll agree to that....my question is...how much do you have it?
I'm not trying to be anti-whatever, I'm just looking at the facts, and I don't see anything good coming out of this.
I just don't see the Iraqis wanting you to help. Actually, from what I have read, they would hope that the coalition would step aside so they can go on with their lives.
Maybe the coalition should read what the arabs think of the situation.
