i have served 20 years as an elder, 5 years as an ms. was on the district committee in 2010, held various positions on the district , circuit, and rbc level.
probably been on more than 100 judicial committees and even an appeals committee.
was the coordinator in our congregation and deleted because adult child was df ( i kicked him out at the time of his wrongdoing, but that wasn't enough for thr brothers).

Never thoughtin a million yrs precious family would shun me like this .
This is truly a heartless cult .
do you know of any cases where brothers didn't get to be elder for a stupid/bogus reason even though they otherwise qualified?
do you think some/most appointments are politicially motivated?
how much do you think politics plays in the appointment process versus merit?

i've noticed a few posts where bad language is used when it is completely unecessary and detracts from the message.. please consider what your choice of words will have on other people who read the forum before you post them, especially for regular posts that are not in the adult section.. there is a time and place for anger and expletives but most regular topics are 'not it'..
It buys into the way JWs demonize critics .
i am disfellowshipped, separated from my husband, and have been "lurking" for some time.
only because i was so unbelievably lonely for being disfellowshipped, i was missing my "friends" terribly, did i even bump into this site.
i googled "lonely and disfellowshipped" and a stream of experiences appeared on the screen.

I'm currently being shunned by 20 close family . I'm not even DFed .
I just did some research and started asking to many uncomfortable questions
before I learned to keep my mouth shut to deluded cultists .
I'm in my 50s bornin . I'm just sick my precious grandchildren are being brought up as JWs .
my jw friend of 20 years, the first one i ever met, the one who got me into jwism in the first place, unfriended me from facebook without explanation.
other jws who have unfriended me at least called me names (apostate) and told me they were unfriending me, but they were no loss.
but someone who's been your friend since you were 13...and no explanation...i'd think 20 years- 20 years!

jdubs are fond of quoting peter "where are we to go lord"... well the answer for me has been this forum for last couple of years which is really sad because i should be able to talk to my lifelong friends instead of faceless avatars.
( don't get me wrong this place has helped me through some really rough times mentally kudos to terry, cedars,slimboyfat, blondie,jwfacts and many others.).
the shun gun has prevented me from making the move completely out of this cult i have given my life to.
