What you are called is "not a approved associate"
Just another of their weasel phrases .
this subject came up with a friend of mine on facebook the other day.
he was never officially baptized as a witness and i believe he is now a born again christian.. does crooklyn consider someone an 'apostate' if you were never actually a full-fledged member but ended up leaving?
or are you just considered 'bad association'??
What you are called is "not a approved associate"
Just another of their weasel phrases .
i guess i'm new here.
born in and an ms. things just hasn't been making sense the more i think about it.
i'm starting to get suspicious.
Here's another common thing that happens to JWs when they start to do research critical to the Watchtower
Many of us feel guilty for even questioning . Think about it that makes no sense its not healthy .
Also some of us have gotten uncomfortable physical feelings like headaches and a feeling of
doing something wrong.
If this supposed truth can't stand up to hard questions and research ITS FALSE .
my brother's stepson, wesley reier, accidentally overdosed on drugs.
he is considered brain dead.
his biological parents have decided to put him in a nursing home, where he will remain for the rest of his natural life.
His problems could very well have been a result of a JW upbringing .
I'm sorry for your family tragedy .
my name is jack harper, tech49.
new here, been lurking for many months now.
a brief history:.
Welcome. We will appreciate your input .
For me the big lie was "All JW critics are slanderous liars"
Needless to say the research proved otherwise .
this new couple moved in a couple weeks ago.
special/regular pioneers, he's an elder from bethel.
i think he might have been a co at one time.
Keep questioning them about why they are there .
Eventually they will have to come up with something .
i am just wondering how many here have gone through the experience of being disfellowshipped and divorced?
i am currently in that situation and sometimes i am afraid of what to expect.
thankfully i have a good core of friends, but nonetheless i still find myself somewhat nervous of what to expect in my new life.
Welcome
i recently came to the realization that the organization is corrupt and is false.
my story is similar to many i think.
i was raised in the religion, pioneered and served as an elder for a number of years.
welcome
i guess i'm a newbie.
i've been reading (lurking) for a looooonnnnnggggg time, but have finally joined and this is my first post.
my story is of course very similar to all the others.
welcome
is that for real?
i swear i read it in a magazine article directed towards teenagers.
it was a while back, maybe a year or two.

Avoid Independent Thinking
20 From the very outset of his rebellion Satan called into question God’s way of doing things. He promoted independent thinking. ‘You can decide for yourself what is good and bad,’ Satan told Eve. ‘You don’t have to listen to God. He is not really telling you the truth.’ (Genesis 3:1-5) To this day, it has been Satan’s subtle design to infect God’s people with this type of thinking.—2 Timothy 3:1, 13.
21 How is such independent thinking manifested? A common way is by questioning the counsel that is provided by God’s visible organization.
*** w87 2/1 p. 19 par. 13 Doing Our Utmost to Declare the Good News ***
These are qualities that all Christians are encouraged to put on. Due to background and upbringing, some may be more given to independent thinking and self-will than others. Perhaps this is an area where we need to discipline ourselves and ‘make our mind over’ so that we can perceive more clearly what the “will of God” is.—Romans 12:2.
*** w87 11/1 pp. 19-20 par. 15 Are You Remaining Clean in Every Respect? ***
True, such smooth talkers may look outwardly clean in a physical and moral way. But inside they are spiritually unclean, having given in to prideful, independent thinking . They have forgotten all that they learned about Jehovah, his holy name and attributes. They no longer acknowledge that all they learned about Bible truth—the glorious hope of the Kingdom and a paradise earth and the overturning of false doctrines, such as the Trinity, the immortal human soul, eternal torment, and purgatory—yes, all of this came to them through “the faithful and discreet slave.”

Unity Is Not Uniformity
Worldwide unity, however, does not mean the stifling of individuality or the crushing of initiative. Where Bible principles apply, we are glad to forsake the independent thinking patterns of this world and to accept the leading of Jehovah’s spirit.
