just wondering
by booby inwhy, if all things were created through jesus, does the new world translation wait till genesis 1:26 for god to say let "us" make, and then revert back to ignoring the us in verses 27-31 to just god.
in verse 31 it says again just that god saw everything "he" made was good?.
31 after that god saw everything he had made and, look!

Ok well here goes.
JW's believe that in the beginning it was God only, no Jesus. By the time the earth was being created, Jesus had already been created. Therefore the "US' in the JW religion means Jesus and Jehovah.
Is this the answer you were looking for? -

Who is the god of the J.W.?
by Aculama inthis one is mostly for those who believe in god ( though i don't wish to exclude any interested ).
it is my belief that the j.w.
organization painted a false picture of who god is by means of false doctrine, misinterpretation of scripture, and false prophesy.

Yes Aculama, I am always on the lookout for other venues. Maybe someday I will appear on radio shows or TBN or something like that.

Three unique things...
by TJ - iAmCleared2Land ini like this topic!
1. i went to an amusement park with friends when i was 17, when getting ready to go on the bumper boats the attendant told me to not step on the rubber part... listening wasn't my strong suite so i stepped on the rubber part and fell in much to the amusement of everyone there.
2. for my 18th birthday my friends took me to see male strippers, my friend held money over my head and when the guy came to collect i refused to put it in his g-string and he called me a prude.

Can someone help me with the latest thinking on Boy Scouts??
by lrkr injust wondering what, if anything has been published in the past about joining the boy scouts?
is it an automatic da, like joining the army?
?.

As far as I know, there is nothing in writing about joining the Boy Scouts, however just ask any Elder and they will tell you why you shouldn't join.
Does anyone know if the old school brochure mentioned the Boy Scouts.
The Boy Scouts are very patriotic with a somewhat religious angle too, so really why would any "real" Jehovah's Witness want to join in the first place?
Also aren't the Boy Scouts required to take an oath of allegiance to their countryin order to join? -

Is it the JW's or the God of the bible you no longer believe?
by reniaa ini have a question for the ex-jw's on this forum after months of reading the forum..... many say how good it is to be free of the oppressiveness of the jw's that they can now enjoy the freedom to... have sex, celebrate christmas, gamble, embrace politics etc.
there are still biblical scriptures and principles in place that if you still followed the bible would mean you avoid these things and yet these are now embraced as one of the perks of no longer being a jw so in my confusion i ask.... if these are what you want, isn't it more correct to say you no longer follow the bible as apposed to just the jw's?.

Here is the way I see it--Those Christian traditions such as the yule log, etc etc are not inherently wrong in themselves, and they are not pagan so long as you are not doing them in worship to a false God.
If you light a yule log and say a prayer to Mithras, then you are doing a pagan act. If you simply just light the yule log for decorations sake, then no it is not pagan. Therefore while Christmas may have pagan roots, Christmas today is very much a Christian holiday. I don't believe you will be judged for celebrating Christmas, I simply don't see it. I do believe that God may judge those who are affiliated with the JW org. I would much rather be in Saint Nicks shoes than Judge Rutherford's or Freddy Franz.
So if you don't want to celebrate christmas, then fine that is your choice, no one should force you to celebrate it. You are an adult and free to make your own choices. I do feel compassion towards your kids (if you have any) for they may never get to experience the joy of Christmas.
