  i got some help from someone on the board in composing a letter to my parents, but i am presenting a letter i wrote just now to my sister johnna.

  she has probably been the most rabid in shunning me.

  she is also one that i felt very close to.

  Speaking in a general way,

  Some jw's are very legalistic and coporate and can be reached by appealing to the legalizm of a matter

  Others more emotional and appeals to the heart are more effective.

  Jes, I trust that you know how to best way to affect your sister. Read the letter through your sisters eyes and then hope for the best and prepare for the worst.

  Wonderful letter to offer her the chance to open the door and that life is not dark and bleak.

  Could she handle parts which show that shunning you is going beyond the scriptures and what the WT has written since you were never baptised and thus can't fall into the "if some called a brother..." catagory? And that to Mike's family it is a "bad witness" - much like the movie "The Firm" ... once in you can't leave with your life.

  I hope it softens her heart.

  Aren't dogs fun!

  i have one or two little spiders that i noticed living in my home... but i don't get rid of them hoping that they will keep the other bugs out.. does anyone else do this?.

  I to am a predator bug. I'll kill the occational bug myself and the spiders can live outside.

  I married a man who was strong enough to stand up to my mom and make her back down (impressive all on its own), but who has given me the respect to let me grow into the person I want to be. He's been gentle but not wimpy, strong but not domineering, and the voice of reason when yours truly is flying off into 12 different directions. He also has the graciousness to admit when I'm right and the kindness not to rub it in when I'm wrong.

  Now that is a damn good description of a real man in my opinion. GOOD FOR YOU! (and him)

  Google hit by mystery problems

  Reports are coming in that some users are having trouble accessing Google. Could MyDoom be to blame?
  

  Are you having trouble accessing Google?

  The Web search giant appeared to have been hit by an ongoing technical glitch on Monday afternoon that prevented some users around the world from accessing some of its services.

  ZDNet UK's attempts to access Google UK's search functionality were unsuccessful, and were met with "Server Error. The service you requested is not available at this time. Service error -27."

  The news tab on the Google UK front page also didn't yield results, although http://news.google.co.uk did work.

  Colleagues at CNet, ZDNet's sister site, in Boston were able to access Google.com, but those in San Francisco reported intermittent problems.

  The Search Engine News Journal has stated that "reports are flying in from across the country that Googles search engine has not been working for the past hour in the United States (11:30 am - 12:30 pm Eastern Standard Time, or 4.30 to 5.30pm BST)"

  However, other users reported that the site was functioning well. Google was unable to shed any light at the time of writing. A Google UK spokeswoman wasn't able to confirm any problems and was waiting for an update from the US.

  According to unconfirmed reports on Slashdot, the reported outage may have been caused by a new variant of the MyDoom virus, or the source could be Elsewhere

  if any of you are bored and want to read a very fascinating tale of what i think is one of the more interesting internet hoaxes, there is the story of john titor.

  the web site says:

  "although there is debate over the exact date it started, on november 02, 2000, a person calling themselves timetravel_0, and later john titor, started posting on a public forum that he was a time traveler from the year 2036.

  i saw a movie tonight and came home thinking about a couple old friends who are still witnesses.

  i miss them something awful.

  i needed to write, so i wrote in my journal for a while, but i really felt the need to write them directly.
