i just saw on the local news that a jw i have personally met and whose family i know was arrested for child pornography.

he is only about 30 years old.

this is the second case in 2 months involving an arrest for a child sex crime within the same congregation (the man on the news actually moved away a few years ago).

1994 National Institute of Health survey of 453 pedophiles, conducted by Dr. Gene Abel, showed these criminals were collectively responsible for the molestation of over 67,000 children. That's an average of 148 children per individual pedophile.

I'm sorry I think someone on this study misplaced a decimal point. 67,000 children by 453 pedophiles?

That would mean that in a town my size one molestor would molest each kid on the 10 baseball teams we have. 140 kids - on average.

Even among jw's, and the two witness rule a person would not get away with this many kids, because once there are two witnesses - to two different attacks - they will be DF'd.

Everyone knows this right? If two kids come forward and each claim that a brother molested them alone on different occasions then you have two witnesses by rule.

Help, I need some advice

we are asking our tenants to leave as of september and they are friends of ours.. .

my hubby had a conversation with the male tenant and told him yesterday (without his wife around) that they are going to have to be out by september as this situation is not working for them, us and most importantly our kids (i have 2 kids that have as and stress is not a good thing for them to go through).

he was kind of shocked but was understanding of why this was neccessary.

Don't you just reach a point in your life where someone like the woman described here is just not worth the effort.

I would make it clear to him and her that you are beyond her attitude. He is welcome and if she can pull it together she is.

And if she doesn't like it so what.

Buy him some Fruit of the Loom underware - men's department.

uhoh! getting married!

well mike and i have set a date.

if you're a dunderhead on neo-babylonian history (like me) you've probably remained totally clueless whenever the subject of the chronology leading to back 607 b.c.

since i had nothing better to do today, i decided to finally take the time it takes to understand why dub chronology on that date is wrong.

this piece of information alone should give you a clue about how bored i am!.

That is 607 divide by 70 which equals 8.6714285714285714285714285714286

Notice the repeatition of 142857 four times? Subtract from 144,000 and you get 1143. Would that be the number of "real annointed" left on earth?

Apostate Literature

a jw once told me apostates print their "own" version of the publications with "convincing" covers to "trick" people - apparently they used to stand outside a shop in sheffield and jws had almost taken literature from them.. has this got any truth to it at all?

i'd have thought most self-published apostate literature would be photocopied leaflets.. other than the brilliant photoshopped spoof covers people post of course!
