I wanted to get an update on the GB but this link is broken. And I tried en.jwpedia.org itself and it seems to be down.
Anyone knows what happened? Or if there is another site that carries GB information?
Thanks!
1894-a-conspiracy-exposed.pdf (32.74 mb) .
many of us wonder what kind of a man russell was.
the april 25, 1894 watch tower there was a special edition exposing a conspiracy regarding a possible overthrow of russell's power.. page 11 states that a bro zech disagreed with russell's opinion that the printed page was the best way to preach the word.

As usual, the rank and file members, the ones who contribute the money thinking it is in support of their congregation operations and maintenence will never know what happens to their money.
How much do you want to bet that the congregation financial reporting that's done in the Service Meeting each month will be somehow amended to not disclose what the congregation's checking account status is? Or maybe they will use "creative accounting" to make it appear they have the money when, in fact, the WTS has it.
How do these elders sleep at night with all the double standards and secrets going on?
Makes me sick!
are they the relatives of the former founders of the w.t.s.
?
Blondie, you never cease to amaze. You are an excellent resource of information.
it seems there is something new at the summer conventions from new book and pamphlet releases to changes in "new light".. i understand that i might be jumping the gun but did anyone get any advance information?.
just curious.
lol!.

One thing that has me wondering is when are they going to have a new song book and new songs to go along with it?
Come to think of it, I always wanted to track which songs would always get air time so I can find out which songs are no longer "approved". When it gets past a certain point, that's when I know a new song book would be coming. I rather anticipated the 1984 new song book. But I've been too out-of-touch to figure out what are they going to do next.
I think that's one of the things that drives new releases - no so much innovation but their editing and correction.
Thanks
i have been visiting the site of the six screens of the watchtower and one of the things they speak about under screen three (i think) is the hidden pictures in the illustrations contained in the awake and watchtower mags.
i was blown away but what they found.
however, i don't want to seem paranoid about it go some of you should go and see it for yourselves and see if i'm crazy.
Let's all stand around and admire the white guy!
Wow! How did that pic slip by?
I'm sure that was a hit in Africa - unless the Africa branches made sure and "Africanized" all the pictures in the magazines into African Politically Correct versions.
LOL!
1) how many of the gb's (and other higher-ups in the org) children, grandchildren, great-children went to college, which universities they attended, and what were their majors and other studies?.
2) how many of the gbs and/or their children and grandchildren (some are old enough to have grown grandchildren, i'm sure) are major stockholders or serve.
on the board of directors for corporations that have some association with the jws.. 3) how many of the gbs and/or members of their families own companies that service the needs of the watchtower society?.

4) Family names other than last names of GB members....sisters, brothers-in-law, wife's maiden name, etc.
5) Properties, both domestic and foreign, owned by GB's close family members.
I'm sure very little of the GB have children. I think they are married but that's as far as their marriage went. All are hard-core career JWs.
As far as personal or financial questions, I think you'll have to be in Bethel, personally know them, and have dealings with them to know that kind of stuff either as inimate conversation or part of their written background which I'm sure is in files somewhere in the bowels of the organization. Incidentally, this is why I find those that have left the WTS who were in key positions in administration or leadership in any of the WTS corporations have the most interesting information to share.
in the new may awake magazine there is an article "is philanthropy the answer?
i knew what the answer.
was going to be before i even read it.
For one thing, neither money nor a good secular education can eliminate such problems as greed, hatred, prejudice and false religious beliefs.
Yeah, right! Tell that to the WTS and her lawyers! LOL
There is also a paragraph that made me laugh at the shear lie it told. "Jehovah's Witnesses do not tithe or in any way solicit funds."
In a way that paragraph made me cringe. I used to think in similar ways. When I begged people to give something for the literature I felt I wasn't soliciting funds. Strange how brain-washing makes you do things you are never aware of.
So I won't be surprised that every JW in "good standing" will read this portion of the article and fail to make the connection.
i received an email from a sister-undercover -apostate saying someone had posted on her anti-jw group that there was a boe dated march 1, 2008 about local kh financial accounts and the wts.. my fading doesn't always let me log-on much and i couldn't find anything under "boe letter" with last month search tool.
has this been discussed?
i stopped by the kh today and checked the board and we had nothing posted (not really expecting to see it posted either).. here is the cut/paste of her email to me:.
It's just another ploy to get more money out of the congregations.
The last straw for me is all the money I gave to the congregation for a new Kingdom Hall was secretly given over to the WTS. The congregation doesn't own the land nor the building. Yet it used the money and the collateral of its members to get the land and the building materials. Even the payments of permits, equipment, and food for the workers. No sooner than the building was up it ownership and excess funds were transferred. I really didn't appreciate this behind-closed-doors action.
I'll bet everyone in the congregation still believes this is THEIR kingdom hall.
NOT!
instead of disfellowshipping for appostacy why don't the witlesses just tell the so called apostates, it's ok ,just don't disrupt the meetings.if they did this would there be less hassle all round.
other organisations have different allied sections but the whacktower org.
isn't strong enough to embrace dissent , it stands on very shaky ground as regard doctrine and practice.in fact they don't know the first thing about good practice they need a suggestion box in the kingdumb hall for a start and a few lessons in democracy wouldn't go amiss.all dictatorships are afraid of the voice of the people.

That's a given that the WTS doesn't tolerate discussion of anything that is even mildly critical of anything it does. The WTS insists it has immunity of anything which it's own rank and file would be disfellowshipped of. It can change its doctrines at will - implying that it was teaching apostacy - but the regular JW can't. He or she has to be in lock-step with the WTS at all times. To answer your question: I doubt it. By placing the person in a disfellowshipped state the person has been marginalized from within the congregation. Although most in the congregation won't know what the person was disfellowshipped for, it is enough. The local mind control police of the WTS - the elders - will have made sure that no one will be exposed to apostacy.

Yea, I remember one time when I was in the troof a catholic guy gave me a catholic book to read and I told him that we are advised not to read that. His reply was "well your faith must be very weak if you are afraid to read that,I would read a Watchtower book and not be afraid of losing my faith." Then I thought he has a very good point; and at that stage of my exit it proved to be another nail in the Whacktower coffin .
That is a splended point! With all the printing they do, the WTS is so afraid that their membership will actually read something else - and start to thinking.
