just thought i'd share this email, i recieved.

in light of the many perversions and jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a little different: this is not intended to be a joke, it's not funny, it's intended to get you thinking.. .

Specifically, here's why this pisses me off ...

Again we're back to the "blessing and protection" of God for our "works" are up to par.

How nice of God to be a "gentleman" and leave us alone... especially with all irrefutable evidence that he existed to begin with.

Her comments link the murder of Madeleine and suicide of Dr. Spock's son with their actions, namely, no prayer in school (whose God do you pray to?!?!) and not using non-physical means of discipline with children. I'm assuming then, that all those that allow the Lord into their lives are safe from murderers and mental illnesses, depression, etc. that may cause one to take their own life.?!?

Sorry, I don't want a teacher or school administrator touching my kid. There are alot of people out there that don't know the difference between a "spanking" and "beating", and quite frankly, I don't think either are necessary.

I don't believe I'd have an abortion, but "thank God" that I live in a country that allows that choice for the women out there that felt it was necessary. I won't judge them until I walked a mile in their shoes. Oh, these girls having abortions - are they the ones with parents that feel its OK to spank???

Hand out the condomns... STDs exist, and so does sex. Speaking of which, what I do in private is non of anyone's business as long as I do my job.

The idea of nude women and men is to stimulate our sexual desires (ooohhh, I said a bad word) and they should look at it some time. It works.

I agree with the Child Pornography part, but I don't believe this has been legalized anywhere. As far as I know, the police and gov'ts are trying to stop this activity. Correct me if I'm wrong. Its still a criminal activity.

Our "violent" TV programs are all "make-believe"... should we go back to the good ole' days of Roman Gladiators, watching criminals hung and heathens burned (by the christians), jousting, etc.???

Just a note... the middle-east has the most "moral" people in the world... they "stone" adulteresses (not men), cut off their hands for stealing, beat their children, keep their wives in subjection, ban all immoral TV, etc.

Just thought I'd share this email, I recieved.

In light of the many perversions and jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a little different: This is not intended to be a joke, it's not funny, it's intended to get you thinking.

Billy Graham's daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her "How could God let something like this happen?" (regarding the attacks on Sept. 11). Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response. She said "I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives.

And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?" In light of recent events...terrorists attack, school shootings,etc. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she was murdered, her body found recently) complained she didn't want prayer in our schools, and we said OK.

Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school ...the Bible says thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK. Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock's son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he's talking about. And we said OK.

Then someone said teachers and principals better not discipline our children when they misbehave. The school administrators said no faculty member in this school better touch a student when they misbehave because we don't want any bad publicity, and we surely don't want to be sued (there's a big difference between disciplining, touching, beating,smacking, humiliating, kicking, etc.). And we said OK.

Then someone said, let's let our daughters have abortions if they want, and they won't even have to tell their parents. And we said OK. Then some wise school board member said, since boys will be boys and they're going to do it anyway, let's give our sons all the condoms they want so they can have all the fun they desire, and we won't have to tell their parents they got them at school. And we said OK.

Then some of our top elected officials said it doesn't matter what we do in private as long as we do our jobs. Agreeing with them, we said it doesn't matter to me what anyone, including the President, does in private as long as I have a job and the economy is good. Then someone said let's print magazines with pictures of nude women and call it wholesome, down-to-earth appreciation for the beauty of the female body. And we said OK.

And then someone else took that appreciation a step further and published pictures of nude children and then further again by making them available on the Internet. And we said OK, they're entitled to free speech.

Then the entertainment industry said, let's make TV shows and movies that promote profanity, violence, and illicit sex. Let's record music that encourages rape, drugs, murder, suicide, and satanic themes. And we said it's just entertainment, it has no adverse effect, nobody takes it seriously anyway, so go right ahead.

Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with "WE REAP WHAT WE SOW." Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says.

Funny how you can send 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing.

Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.

Are you laughing?

Hell, I'm laughing my ass off. Funny, how none of the above mentioned existed here on earth until "man" booted God out of the picture.

Life on other planets?

as jw's, we were taught that there is no way that there is life anywhere but here on earth.. i personally never bought into that completely.

there are billions and billions of solar systems out there.

i do believe that absolutely there is life on other planets.

Ironically, I was watching the Space channel this weekend, and a program on UFO's. I do believe that life exists in the universe... we've found life here on earth in the most unlikely, inhospitable places.

After watching some of the footage of the show, it makes you wonder. When there are mass sightings and "reliable" wintesses (pilots), etc.

I'm not sure if I'm a believer in intelligent life that "visits" our earth - however, I'm not a disbeliever either. Sounds wishy-washy I know... What I found fascinating was early drawings in ancient civilizations recording UFO's, and in old paintings.

They seem to be apart of the human psyche.

magazines are so bland and lacking in content, it may come as no surprize.

to you that it's often because a number of topics are 'off limits'.. that is, certain subjects are so troublesome to the watchtower leadership.

When I was an active witness, and pioneer, I believed it was Satan's snare of false religion that was the spiritual deception encouraging everyone to make the wrong life choice...

in response to my post.. I assumed the answer was to "combat disease" (the poison), which was what my comment refered to.

Just to be clear. I like poisonous snakes. I also like non-poisonous snakes... and sharks, lions and bears (oh my!!!). All these vicious, violent, meat-eating animals were all created prior to "man's fall". I guess that was my point.

I think they "adapted" over llllooooonnnngggg periods of time, in ways that helped them to survive.... just like us. Oopppss I have a craving for a banana, excuse me.

I'm a newbie, so I assume other more experienced posters have dealt with this issue with you Jim, but you make very blanket, black & white statements.

Your statement "Turning everyone away from God has failed in bringing peace and a life without fear."

OK, so religion has done a wonderful job!!! Where have I been hiding... the Muslims, Christians, Hindus, etc. have all brought about peace and a life without fear.

My understanding of human nature is that everyone is out there trying to "convert" everyone else. TV evanglists, door-to-door, informal (just ask the BA at my work), missionaries... I've yet to have an athiest knock on my door to "turn me away from God".

If posing questions is destroying faith... God shouldn't have "created" us with the ability to ask.

Personally, I think he should have went with the "robot" idea. Less trouble.

if the subject of religion or even jehovah's witnesses ringing your doorbell has come up, do you shy away from talking about ever being a witness?

some have indicated that they felt stupid for ever believing in the watchtower.

others have said they have a responsibility to help others not get involved in this "cult".

Kenneson - completely agree. Just was curious where Zech was going with it...

Oh, and if you talk to a creationist, and even WT reasoning - everything has "adapted". I think it means "evolved". Just a more "christian" way of viewing it.

Zech - how do you view God? As a religious person - biblical - or as a force. A comment you made grabbed my attention, the point that poisonous snakes can be used to fight disease. So if you believe in a Biblical God, why in "the Beginning" did he need to make a poisonous snake, since there was not yet any disease? Hmmm, and if he knew there would be sin, he did it "just in case", but then you'd have all these poisonous snakes biting perfect, disease-sin free people ...

Personally, I don't know if I believe in God, but if I did, I'd have to say that everything is exactly the way he wants it to be.

Jjrizo - just read your last post... who wrote the bible?!?!?! I know women didn't. Oh, right it was the men. No, God. Right, now I remember. Thats why its soooo clear and not confusing at all.
